I have researched my family heritage for many years. I would like to share what I have found with others who are also looking for their family. When I go to the cemeteries I try to take photo's of as many of the stones as I can. I hope this will help someone else looking for their family.|
If anyone would like family memorials transfered to them, or would like changes made to anything I have added to fag, just let me know. I will be glad to do so. Any stone photo's I have added to fag may be used with my permission, for family records only. I do not give permission for them to be used for profit in any way.
Please remember we are all doing this to help each other. Though most requests I have gotten have been asked very nicely, I have received a few that have not been so nice. This is why I no longer post my e-mail address on my profile page.
If you leave a message on my page I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Jurdan Boyatt was my great(4x) grandfather, on my grandfather's side. Jurdan's daughter Elizabeth married William White.
I see that you did a memorial for him on Find A Grave.
I assumed that was because you were related to Louise Crockett. She was my great aunt and one of my favorite relatives. Had a great visit with her when we were traveling through Texas.
Now I realize that she was my grandmother's sister. Not related to Boyatt.
So the name must be just a coincidence. Thanks for your help all the more!

It is our pleasure. As we, my wife and I, work our way through the Scott co, VA. and surrounding areas, we are trying to update as many smaller cemeteries as possible. It is interesting to see the "Davy" Crockett name live on.

|Christopher A Smith||The Smiths of Salt Creek Township|
I'm descended from Samuel Rice Smith who married Hulda Wheeler, a daughter of Alvin Wheeler. Samuel Rice Smith had a number of sons, one of which, James Wheeler Smith, was the father of Robert Marshall Smith who married Jennie Culbertson. Robert was the author of a book of memoirs titled "The Salt Creek Colony of Egypt". I am looking for ANYONE who is descended from or know ANYTHING about this group of Smiths. I know Samuel Rice Smith was born in either Woodford or Rockcastle County, KY, and his father and mother were Isaac Smith and Nancy Hendrix. Isaac's father was Andrew Smith and I believe he was from either Orange Co, NC or Russell/Henry Co, VA.
I've done yDNA and autosomal DNA and have a very large amount of data I can share with anyone interested. We appear to have been in North America since about 1640 or so. I have about 5 unique Smith yDNA matches that should help find a point of convergence in Colonial Virigina.
I am _very_ eager to speak with anyone who is familiar with the family of Samuel Rice Smith. I am descended from his second to youngest son, Daniel Rice Smith who married Nancy Jane Acton Goforth. Daniel died in Carmi, IL in 1889.
We're related to the families of:
Thanks for all the help!

Mary, thank you for the work you've done!
I fear I've messed up the above memorial by mixing up the #'s for Othmer and his father.
It should read as follows:
Dewey C Denney # 15116888
Sallie C Simpson Denney # 15116701
By,me, mixing up the numbers it reads as Othmer being the parent, child & sibling. Which is incorrect.
I'm so sorry. I hope you can fix this. And again thank you! Without you adding the memorial I've would have never found info. on my grandmothers sister or family.

|Jon Homer||Charles Burdine - Grave Location|
I've just begun my search for a broken link in my Mother's family. My Great(x3) Grandmother is believed to be Millie Barnes who married a Jefferson G Burdine. Jefferson, the son of Joseph Josiah Burdine the son of Charles V Burdine.
In my search I came across the death record for Charles Burdine in Sinking Valley, Pulaski County, Kentucky. The record lists Charles' parents as Elijah and Nancy Burdine. If this is the same Charles, his mother must have been Nancy Elizabeth or Elizabeth Nancy. Do you have any record of the full name for Elizabeth
Also, Millie Barnes supposedly (as told by my mom's great Aunt) died giving birth to twin or triplet boys sometime between 1896 and 1900. The 1900 Census lists Jefferson living with Joseph "Josiah" Burdine (his father's family). I found a marriage record of a Millie Barnes to a Miles J Burdine. So Millie either married the brothers in succession or Miles and Jefferson are the same (I'm still sleuthing this oddity)
Anyway.... I'm wondering if there is a backwoods family grave site somewhere in Sinking Valley Kentucky that is the resting place for both Charles Burdine and Millie (Barnes) Burdine... I'm still looking but it's hard living in Oregon.
