Bio

I was born in Virginia. My dad was in Graduate School at Virginia Tech at the time. My dad got a job at NGCSU, so I grew up in Dahlonega, Lumpkin County, Georgia. I moved to Marietta, Cobb County, GA in 2007.

My dad has been researching his family roots for over 45 years. So with his expertise and experience guiding me, I have quickly absorbed the process of researching Genealogy.

In April 2009, on a trip to Massachusetts, I became very interested in researching my mother's side of the family. I have spent the last four years visiting cemeteries, libraries, state archives, and history centers. It has been a wonderful adventure finding out where my relatives are buried, what occupation they did, and even reading some of their private letters. I have family roots from Vermont and Massachusetts to Georgia and South Carolina. In Georgia, I have family roots in Richmond, Chatham, Cobb, Cherokee, Dawson, Forsyth, Gordon, Fulton, Floyd and Paulding Counties. My ancestors names on my mother's side are: Carrie, Colvard, Conn, Cornwell, Dicks, Blodgett, Booth, Brantly, Berrien, Burroughs, Eubanks, Foreman, Franklin, Hairston, Hawks, Haygood, Hulbert, Hill, Johns, Lindley, Litchfield, Miller, Parker, Perkinson, Stinchcomb, Thompson, Toole, Turner, Wall, Wheeler, Wigley, Wood, and Woodall and many more not mentioned.

Currently, I am working on a genealogy book or books of my family lines.

Also, you can use the info and photos here for your personal use but if you plan to copy any of my memorials or photographs and post them to other web sites like ancestry.com; etc. please "cite" where you found them from with my findagrave profile. All my memorials are family and related/allied lines and they are constantly updated and changed as I find more info. I have worked really hard scanning family photos/info and researching all the information.

Note: Edit requests and e-mails will take a month to acknowledge as I get numerous requests since ancestry.com bought findagrave and there is more exposure. Please be patient and do not send multiple requests.

Current Update: My father, Dr. James Conn Parker passed away and shocked to discover all his findagrave memorials were transferred to other people. I am working hard to get my paternal ancestors back. We worked so hard researching, traveling and digitizing family photos. (Do not want all of my father's research info to get changed. He was family historian, genealogist for 50 years, published two genealogy books and was a member of Sons of American Revolution (SAR) for over 40 years and certified 22 patriot ancestors which paves the way for countless generations. He had very accurate and detailed documentation on all his research.)
