Jackson Smith and Teresa
Good morning CarolBee<
Thank you for your hard work. I recently saw the photo of Emma Veit's grave in your post. I had seen the grave when I visited the cemetery , and you are helping us add to our history! Dwayne and I live in Claryville (where Dwayne and his family have been since...well, quite a long time ago.). Carol S. recently showed me an old photo of several Veits (Veite, Vite...).

Mary Teresa (Theresa) married Jackson Smith, Dwayne's great grandfather! Their child, Joseph and his wife, Mabel May Carvin (first wife) had Everett (Dwayne's dad).

So, I am adding to our history by leaps and bounds lately. Thank you.

RE: Susannah Potter Bradford
Ah, I see you got to retain the Bradford name. I lost the name at Hannah Bradford, Abner & Susannah's daughter. An interesting line we have there, cousin! I've often wondered how many of us Mayflower descendants there are alive today. No real way to know, I guess.

I understand keeping her. I like to keep the ones I've found that I'm related to also.

Not sure who started that lost at sea thing. To me, lost at sea means exactly that, died on the way over (or back) and body dumped at sea, shipwrecks, killed by pirates, etc. It doesn't mean a gravestone that can't be found. A category called "Burial Unknown" would make more sense. I've found a couple of sea captain ancestors who actually were lost at sea and there was always such an interesting story behind their deaths. But, thanks for letting me know. It will save me from looking for shipwreck stories involving her. LOL

Susannah Potter Bradford
Find A Grave# 133289453

She is my 6th great grandmother. I'd love to have a transfer to me, if you are not related.

If you are related, maybe you can shed light on something...on, there was a hint that this memorial on Find A Grave was part of some "lost at sea" memorial. Do you know what memorial or virtual cemetery this refers to and more importantly, do you know if she actually died at sea?

Thanks for your help.

RE: Smiths at Hayt's Cemetery in Ithaca
Carolyn these Smiths are no relation but I did a tree for my Son In law and these Smith's at Ithaca are his grandparents. He does not do any type of ancestry so If I run across someone I will suggest they help you out.
Thank you so much for recording the stones. All the people that document the cemeteries are angels to those of us who are living great distances from our ancestors burial grounds.
Carolyn Smith Texas.
