While I have always been fascinated by graveyards, my interest in genealogy started only a few years ago when I started researching my 2nd great grandfather, who died in the Civil War. During that research, I came across this site and my Grandfather Purcell was my first memorial here. Since then, I have found many of my ancestor's gravesites already listed and I have created many more. It's been a fascinating and educating journey.|
Most of my father's relatives were of Irish/Scotch/English descent and from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana, via Philadelphia, Long Island, and Baltimore. My mother's family was among the early Danish immigrants to the Stonington Peninsula in Delta County, Michigan.
Unfortunately, I am a fair distance from all those places and am unable to regularly visit the graves of my family. Find a Grave is the next best thing. I have found many helpful people here that share my interest in preserving our past.
The names I am actively researching are Petersen, Bonefeld, Hoi, Iversen, Allen, Armstrong, Atkinson, Purcell, Ferry, Pollock, Wood, Wiley, Coe and many others.
TRANSFERS, CORRECTIONS, FAMILY LINKS:
I will gladly transfer any memorial of persons to whom I am not related to anyone that is a relative. If I am related to a person and a requestor is a closer relative, I will also be glad to make the transfer. Please make any transfer requests, corrections, or Family linkage requests via the Edit tab on the memorial.
Please be aware that, while I am happy to post obituaries, I will remove the names of individuals that are still living beforehand.
Important: Please include the Memorial Number of parents and spouses when requesting links. I can no longer accept links without this number. I get several requests each day and your update will get done quicker with the memorial number.

|Douglas Neumann||Alex Gillis|
Alex Gillis is my Greatgrandfather. He is buried in Woodlawn Cem. Green Bay WI.. When I check 'all' the people with the name Gillis, for Woodlawn, There comes up the name 'John A. Gillis'. Alex Gillis and John A. Gillis are the same person.
Are you able to correct this error?
|paul graves||Eva Graves #82785478|
Do you have any additional information about Eva Graves, Died 1926, buried Woodlawn cemetery in Allouez, Green Bay, WI? I believe that this may be my father's sister. We have gone to Woodlawn and are trying to find the grave.
Found a stone in Park (section) B of Woodlawn Cemetery. The stone has deteriorated badly. MITCHELL is clearly visible at the bottom but not sure of what else is stated on the stone. Cleaned off the lichens with H2O and a toothbrush but will go back (after we lose our snow and the weather warms) and do a chalk-rubbing. This was the ONLY Mitchell stone found in all of B. Could this possibly be your Mitchell Mitchell or has someone else already contacted you about this marker?

I think this person may still be living. Not 100% sure though.

|William E Schaefer||Duplicate Memorials|
Could you please kindly remove the many duplicates you have created in the Morrison Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery located in Morrison, Brown County, Wisconsin.
It would be very much appreciated.
Thank you very much.
It might be a good idea to stop making memorials for living people
