Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have lived in southern Illinois all my life. My aunt Blanche Ray got me started in genealogy years ago by handing me a single sheet of paper with a few names on it and it has ballooned from there. I really enjoy it. It is like putting a puzzle together. By helping others with their family tree, it has helped me by expanding mine. I research the Kelley family on my father's side and the Bradley's on my mother's side. My grandfather's brother Arnold L. Bradley has the Bradley side pretty much covered. He has literally wrote a book on them.

The photo of Thomas is not very good because of water on the stone. I will retake when weather gets warmer.

Lincoln Development Cemetery
Richard, the Genealogy & Historical Society here have a book of the cemetery giving where they are located. I'll try to get there and see if I can find out about your cousin and let you know. If I haven't gotten back to you when you are ready to come, send me a reminder and I'll see what I can do to help you out. Cindy

Richard, the cemetery is now on the Lincoln Correctional Center grounds. You would have to contact the IL Department of Corrections or the Lincoln prison. I contacted the prison directly because my husband works "next door" at the Logan Correctional Center (they are actually right next to each other), so I know some of the people there. Here is their phone# (217) 735-5411. Give it a try first. I'm sorry I haven't been back in a while to take any photos, I hurt my knee and have been trying to get it healed...looks like I may need surgery. My husband and I would really like to go out there and document the whole cemetery...maybe in the spring. Good luck.

Cana Cemetery
Hello Richard,

Thank you for the photos for Hosea Borum and Martha Sims Peterman.

Martha is a distant cousin who helped me so very much with the family history when I was just beginning to research.

I appreciate very much your photos.

Gaye Hill

P.S. Can you tell me how large Cana Cemetery is? Is this a very old location?

Hi

You posted a picture of Mount Hebron Cemetery, Union Co, Illinois.
Can you tell me where this cemetery is? I'm trying to locate it on a map.
Thanks
