I have been researching my great-uncle Bill (William Maier Nov 1920 - Jan 13, 1946). He is Find A Grave Memorial# 56756557.
From what I understand he was in Torpedo Squadron 11. If you have any information about him, or any suggestions where I should look for information, I would really appreciate it.

Oh my dear sir,
I was so thrilled to get your message regarding the photo of HL's squadron. I would love to have a copy. There are only a few close living relatives.
I used to talk with my cousin quite frequently up until the time of his death. One of his favorite people in the world was my grandmother (Nana). He would stay with us and bring his friends to visit when his ship came to San Francisco. I was only 3-5 at the time but I so desperately wanted him to wait until I grew up so I could marry him. Silly little child...you can't marry your cousin! LOL
Anyway, my email address is: SVSHall [at] gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

No worries, glad to help. But patience is required on the other marker. I get them in batches from a very overworked local volunteer. She waits till a large number of requests are from one plot and then gets them for me. I suspect Plot N will be soon.
