I have been working with cemeteries one way or another all my life. When I was a child, I helped my mother and my aunts clean the brass markers on the graves of my grandfather and my uncle and other family members; my maternal grandmother had beautiful flowers all in her yard and we were constantly taking flowers to the graves of relatives and people who were friends of my grandmother (though complete strangers to me) who "had no one else to put flowers on their graves." Later, as a daughter-in-law, I became involved in the Henry County Genealogy Society's cemetery book project when I volunteered to type up listings on the over 425 cemeteries which the group had compiled for publication. I enjoy taking pictures of stones for people who cannot personally get to cemeteries in my area, and I appreciate people who have done the same for me in their area. I have created several memorials in the course of my cemetery work. Some of the memorials are people who are not related to me, so I am always willing to transfer those non-related memorials to people who request them - hopefully allowing more information to be listed than I am able to provide.|

It is my pleasure to have found living kin of the Williams & Witt family. Therefore, I have transferred 3 memorials over to your care.
This cemetery backs up to the back of my property. It is a remote location, but there is a short trail that is accessable by foot. It has been neglected for years and years. My son is an Eagle scout and for his project, he took on trying to restore this cemetery. It was a HUGE undertaking. So many broken and missing stones. Snakes, poisen ivy, barbed wire, etc. We got it looking pretty good and then a big storm came through and took down a bunch of trees. Come fall, we shall assess the damages and make another attempt at clean up.
I am not related to any of these folks, but I feel as though I am. I have a great love for them and for their burial ground.

Just wondering if you did see the stone for Hannah Witt? This Hannah was just a wee one when she died.

Hi Mary Ann,
Thank you for taking time to contribute information in an ongoing effort to improve the memorials.
The best way I know how to say thanks is to post your info promptly.

Hello! Thanks so much for your work on this cemetery. My girlfriend has ancestors buried there, so this cemetery has a special place in our heart. In answer to your question, I checked the 1970 listing and did not find Alexander Chestnut. Very best, Richard
