Bio and Links
Bio Photo We are two sisters who are working on the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery (also known as IOOF Cemetery). The cemetery was incorporated on September 20, 1887; on November 30, 1965 the IOOF Cemetery ceased and the cemetery became the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Incorporated. The cemetery located in section 18 of Monroe Township, on route 101 at the Flatrock Road.

We have access to the original records for the cemetery with permission from the cemetery board. We are trying to get the utmost accurate information for all genealogists. If we have any of your families memorials please feel free to ask for a transfer.

12/26/2010 Update- All sections photographed. I will be going through the book to enter graves without photos.

Thanks to Lois Ternet for permission in using her photos from the LOIS TERNET COLLECTION.

Much Thanks
I sincerely appreciate your work on the Monroeville Cemetery. I was looking for information on the Schlemmer school on the internet & one of the searches brought up the link to Find-A-Grave for one of our Schlemmers. It had been a long time since I did any searching here! I noticed that you have 6 children for Phillip & Caroline Schlemmer, but only have 4 listed. I can fill you in on the other 2. One of them was my grandfather, George William Schlemmer (B. 21-May-1879 in Allen Co., IN; D. 7-Jan-1958 in Mongo, IN, buried in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, LaGrange Co., IN; M. 28-Apr-1904 to Iva Pearl Shaffer in Monroeville, IN). The other is Mary Esther Schlemmer (B. 18-Sep-1888 in Allen Co., IN; M. James Franklin Shaffer 27-May-1908 in Adams Co., IN) Sorry, I do not have her death date in my records -- and yes, she did marry George's brother-in-law!
I'll be searching out more of the family after our family leaves, feels kind of good to do some research again. :)

Herman Johnson's headstone
Thank you for the photo of Herman M. Johnson's resting place! #65068977. In the photo, you indicate that there is no headstone for him, or his mother, Mary Johnson. But there is one for his father, John Allen Johnson. Additionally, Mary Creason, also with no headstone, is listed next to Herman in the photo, with the date of 1916-1921. However, I am not sure exactly who she is. Do you have any info on her? I think she may be the daughter of Herman Johnson's sister, Maude Creason. When I click on Mary Creason's memorial (77081799) it says her parents are Maude & Earl Johnson Creason, which makes sense. But I am just confused on why their daughter would be buried next to Maude's brother and parents. I hope this isn't too confusing and makes sense to you. I greatly appreciate your time, and all you do!
If you find out anything more let me know.

Thank you very much for the headstone photo as well as links to Mr. Beery's parents. Sorry it took so long to implement your suggestions but I've been out of the country for a couple of months - just returned yesterday.

RE: Bridget Enright Goodin
Thank you so much for her obit! I really appreciate your taking the time to find it and send it to me. It was so nice to read, and know a little bit more about my great-great-great grandmother.

Thank you again!

RE: Bridget Enright Goodin
Thank you SO much!!

That would mean the world.

And if by some chance the obit for her husband, John Goodin, is there too, that would be so wonderful as well.

Thank you again for your time,

~Bridgett J.
