Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've decided to change my profile to reiterate my feelings on transfers, additions, and corrections to the memorials that I manage:

In fairness to those who may have closer ties to a memorial, please read the Transfer Guidelines prior to requesting a transfer. I will now transfer only within the stated guidelines. Please do not ask me to make a bulk transfer of names. I will make exceptions if I am personally doing work for you. You do not need to "manage" every memorial that is part of your family tree. Remember that this site is for locating burials, not building a tree. There are other websites that are more suitable for that purpose. I will be happy to make any links and corrections. PLEASE use the SAC feature ("Edit" tab). Please do not ask me to do links to any "Burial Unknown". Do your homework, first. Please feel free to add photos where appropriate, as you do not need to manage the memorial to add photos.

I will not cut and paste raw data from census records, death indices, etc. A nicely written bio is preferable.

Please consider using the "virtual cemetery" feature on this site to keep track of relations.

Since March 2013 I have taken over management of memorials in Inglewood Park Cemetery from Chris Mills. Please continue to send suggestions for corrections using the "Edit" tab and I will get to them as soon as I can.

Please have your messages enabled if you want to correspond with me. I will not use my personal e-mail on this site.

RE: Lemuel Houser
When I created one site there was a section at bottom to indicate how famous I thought the person was. I assumed that you had to get so many votes before the memorialized person was granted celebrityhood by the Find A Grave overseers. Brutal.

Hi B.J.

Would it be Ok if I attach the photo (with appropriate credit) you took of Del's marker to my tree on Ancestry?

RE: Lemuel Houser
I'm not sure, other than the name in stone, that the "Suzy/Rob" monument stone has anything to do with the subject's burial site.

"Olympic Athlete" is good. No problems. I haven't figured out the link thing either. Bob

RE: Lemuel Houser
I regret I didn't keep the draft I made--I usually delete drafts after I submit them to findagrave. However, I likely used edited wikipedia text as a primary source. I usually indicate where the info came from in the submission. I can rewrite in my own words if this will work. I am haven't found the Find A Grave guidelines yet. I had one submission that was a lot of work and it was rejected by Find A Grave as the custodian of the site.

RE: Benedictson
Thanks bunches, Bonnie.
The photo looks great.

I just edited the memorial putting "Rose" as the first name rather than as the nickname; perhaps that is best to prevent duplicates (See Memorial# 71284916). Then again, this may make it difficult for family searching her legal name, which was used on all documents I have viewed including death records.

I think Find A Grave would do well to add a "Name on Marker" Search feature. It's a common problem in both creating duplicates & finding those we seek on Find A Grave.

Alma I. Rolfe
Not only did I get the photo for Alma I. Rolfe but also for her husband, Harold as they share the same gravemarker. Thank you so very much!

That's perfectly alright. Thank you so much for taking the time to find and photograph their graves. Aunt Lahoma was a wonderful woman. She passed away this past December on one of her yearly trips to Oklahoma to visit our family. We miss her dearly. Just seeing where she is buried is comfort for all of us. Thank you.

Jacob F. Scherer

Jaocb F. Scherer 80416156 lived for a time in the Tomball, Texas area. He is part of the very large Scherer family, that settled here.

"The Scherer Family Tree 1846-2012" by Vernon Scherer, Loyd Scherer and Glorianne Scherer Schwausch states that Jacob F. Scherer moved to Califorina along with his second wife Alwina (Alvina) Voss #80416164 married June 9, 1876, they and their living children moved to California.

I hope this helps clear up our misunderstanding about Jacob and gives you the info needed to connect him to his second wife.
I could email you a copy of all the documents that Salem Lutheran Church has on him and his children if you would like.

Thanks for your help,
