I am retired military and have been doing family history for some twenty plus years. My Great Grandparents William Harrison & Georgella Roach lived in Beattyville, Lee County, Kentucky until their death. The land that is now known as The Roach Cemetery was onced owned by William Harrison Roach and dedicated to the family of Ted Cole husband of Martha Roach, dau of William Harrison Roach and Georgella Noe. My ancestors of Wilson, Thompson, Galbraith, Insko, Hull and Jett all came from Bracken and Mason Counties. The Tharp's were from Georgia and the Cardwell's were all through Virginia and Kentucky. My ancestors from the Owsley, Estill and Lee Counties are the Roach's, Cole's, Noe's, Brandenburg's, Johnson's, Goosey's, Hamilton's, Longworth's and Coomer's. Please feel free to visit my virtual cemeteries for a complete listing of family members final resting place. Once a year I try to get back to Kentucky to do research and document various cemetery's of family members and others within those cemeterys. | |
