Living in Southwest Virginia after retiring as a Critical Care nurse. Always loved genealogy and now incorporating it with history and involved with Find A Grave.|
I follow Find A Grave guideline and if you want me to transfer a memorial to you, it should be a DIRECT relative within four generations. ( FAG says: This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.) Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management.
Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. FAG's goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.
Please contact me if you would like something added that you can't add. I believe flowers should be for someone you know not to decorate a page.
Feel free to use any of my photos without giving me any credit. I am dedicated to preserving our passed loved ones and linking families.

|Dewey Poteet||Ball cemetery,your listing|
I hate to burst your bubble, you sounded so thrilled your work on Find A Grave. You listed Beach Margie Lee Bryant 68607874 as listed buried in Ball Cemetery Lee County Virginia. You being from South West Virginia you should check your information as that is in your area. Margie is not buried in the Ball Cemetery as you listed nor as her obituary stated. She is buried in what is known as the Ball Poteet Cemetery on the Poteet side. There is a property line between the Ball Cemetery and the Benjamin F Poteet Cemetery. I know, I was born within half a football field from Pa Ben's Cemetery and lived on his farm for 24 yrs. I own his farm now, he was my grandfather and he was buried in his own cemetery. That Cemetery is named wrong several times on the Internet, too involved to try to correct every one. Every one listed in this listing Ball Cemetery is on the Poteet side of the Ball Poteet Cemetery except the two Whitaker's listed, they may be on the Ball side but no one, no one but Grandpa Benjamin F Poteet's family members is buried in his Cemetery or his relatives. No one, I know I'm around it several times a year and I know how it started. Its separated from the Ball Cemetery by the property line. If you looked at the layout of the Cemetery, easy to see, property line separates the two Cemeteries. Part of the fence was taken down to make it easier to maintain. Whoever created this as the Ball Cemetery got it all wrong. Its wrong all over the Internet as only the Ball Cemetery, Ball Cemetery is adjacent to Benjamin F Poteet Cemetery. There is a listing as Poteet Ball Cemetery with some of Benjamin F. Poteet family buried there but, that creater got it right.Grandpa Ben's cemetery is full and I'm not giving any more land to it.

Thanks for the information. I am confused on where "Pat Anderson" fits in the Wise Wampler family. Cannot find (him?) in any grave records, census reports, marriage/birth/death records or mention in any of the family obituaries. This will be added to the addendum in my family write-up.

Hi! Could you contact me at email@example.com please? It is about a edit suggestion for my grandparents that you sent me. Thanks!
|Evelyn McCoy White||Mary Smith Hatfield|
The death date you gave me for Mary Smith Hatfield, 30 Jun 1854, belongs to Mary E Record Hatfield, wife of Ale Hatfield who was the son of Armstead Hatfield and grandson of Ale Hatfield. She is buried in Green Co IN at Armstead Hatfield Cemetery. They have been confused for years and the incorrect information is still floating out there. Ale and Mary were still together in 1860 and 1870 census recordings in Scott Co TN.

Nice to meet you cousin. I do remember seeing my husbands gg grandma Martha's stone (sorry I told you John W. was my husbands g grandfather. He's actually his gg grandfather) My husband is the son of Larry, who was the son of Noah, who was the son of Auborn Pridemore - John W's son. Martha's stone wasn't legible and I didn't know for sure who'e it was though I suspected that it could be hers. Mr. Chambers said they'd had a number of trees come down in the cemetery that they cleared out themselves. One of them was a rather large tree that had broken and even demolished some of the stones unfortunately. I thanked him for taking care of the cemetery for us and our family. His family is buried there too and they want to make sure it's cared for.

|hgilly||RE: Gilley Cemetery|
The Gilley Cemetery on Baum Hollow Road lists 55 interments. One includes my husbands g-grandfather John W. Gilly. We visited this cemetery and spoke with the Chamber's family. I tried to be careful to put the correct picture that I took of Pete Gilly/Irondale cemetery on Baum Hollow Road. Peter Hasque N. Gilley was John W. brother. He is buried there as well. Mr. Chambers then drove us over to the other Gilly Cemetery on Maple Gap Road (which there are no Gilley's/Gilly's buried there) currently has 80 interments listed. We visited that cemetery as well with permission of the land owners. I posted 2 photos to that cemetery site as well. Anyways, the photo that I posted for the Baum Hollow Road cemetery is indeed the one with all the broken stones. We stood in the southwest corner of the cemetery right in front of the driveway to take that photo. I believe my husband had to hold the camera up high to snap that photo.

|Teresa Mullins Blair||Laura Frazier Kennedy|
Laura Frazier is my father's Aunt. My father is Pleas Mullins from Big Stone Gap. His mother is Minnie Frazier and Laura is her sister. Laura's first husband is Pat Anderson. I don't believe she was ever married to Wise Wampler's father. I remember her very well although I was young when she passed.

|Wayne Grigg||WAMPLER FAMILY|
My name is Wayne Grigg and I live in Griffin, Ga. My Great Grandmother was Corinthia Wampler Sproles. She was the daughter of James Israel Wampler. You have a lot of Wamplers on Find A Grave. Are you a Wampler also? Do you have a Wampler tree on Ancestry?
|Donna Marinus||James Olin Ramey|
My great grandfather was buried at the Glencoe Cemetery and you have added this information. Recently, I took my father James Corbin Ramey to visit to Big Stone Gap to visit his grandfathers grave. My dad is now 81 and in poor health. We searched for his grandfather's grave, James Olin Ramey, and we were not able to find it. Do you have any info on where it is located in the cemetery? Dad lives about 2 1/2 hours from Big Stone Gap and was born in Roda,VA. I would love to come back to the cemetery if you could give us any info on where the grave is located. Thank you so much for this listing.
