Your tombstone stands among the rest;|
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Thanks, I have been researching the Chastain family as my mother was a Chastain. Some Ancestry records have Grace married to my great uncle Luther, but his wife did not die until 1948 and Grace was already dead in 1947. He moved to Oregon about the time he was 3 years old and never returned to Missouri as far as I know. Thanks again, Gary Webb

Sorry, I am new at this. the Memorial Number is 29018999.

I just wonder where the Chastain name came from in her memorial. She was listed as single in the 1900, 1920, 1930 and 1940 censuses and on her Missouri Death Certificate #37817.

Thank you so much for your reply. My Grandfather, Abner, died when I was a young girl, I don't know too much about his side of family, other than Dewey, a sister & some half siblings.

You have her born in 1861 which is correct.
BUT you have her child as Rachel, born in 1865. Theresa married in 1885 and her child, Ida was born in 1886.
Due to our not having Candace's second married name you did not find her earlier entry, which is 27347558. We apologize for the confusion this caused. Someone has entered a photo request for her, which, of course, you already have on your page. Would you please add that photo to 27347558? Thanks so much, and again, we're sorry for the added work.
Thank you for letting me know.

The Champlin family is my husband's family. His grandmother is Caroline Champlin whose parents are: Henry Champlin and her mother is Sophia Mosley Austin Champlin. Would you be so kind to transfer this family to us. Most of our family is buried in Maple Hill Crmetery in Miami County, Ohio. Thank you very kindly for all you do.
