To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....
First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.
Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".
Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.
You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.
Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.
Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.
Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!
I leave nasty postings on my profile page so others can see just how rude and stupid people can be to others. Most read and laugh. :)

Thank you for bringing it to my attention that I had inadvertently duplicated the above referenced memorial. I had recently visited the St. Joseph's #1 Cemetery and took several thousand pictures and uploaded the spreadsheet. I have not had time to go back over it to check if anything had been duplicated. Since there were so many to be uploaded, it was easier to submit the whole spreadsheet then go back to check for duplicates rather than to go over each and every name looking to see if it was already in place. I don't remember exactly at this moment but there as over 4,000 names submitted. I am now in the process of checking back over it and correcting any mistakes I may have made. Yes, I do realize that there is one memorial per person. I have found many, many times where there have been duplicates and have made an attempt to contact the submitter to get it corrected.
Once again, thank you for your help.

Hi Linda: Yes, in order to get a clear photo, please click on the blurred photo. I have explained this problem in my personal Find A Grave Bio. Thanks for your notice and have a goog day.
I got your message about the duplicate memorial for Edward Lagergren, my great uncle. I submitted a correction to the creator of the first memorial to update it with the additional information in the one I created. Then I'll delete the duplicate.

Linda, I just thought the memorial was in Glynn Co, Ga.I did not know. I guess being Lloyd was from Glynn Co, he can't be put in St. Johns. I don't know if he on anything in Glynn Co, or if there any monument in Glynn. But thank u much for all you have done. WeeZee

My grandmother's # 9579954. I followed the help guides that stated that if a person is unable or is unwilling to transfer memorials, contact the administrators and they will transfer memorials. Well, that was nearly a year ago. Thank you for taking the time and the extra 2 steps to help me out. God bless, Diana
|D.L. Mross||transferring memorials|
I have a situation. I would like to have my grandmother's memorial tranferred over to me so that I can manage it, but the creator as passed on & the person whose taken charge over it, is NOT accepting messages or emails. And I have sent many emails to the administrators discussing this matter and have gotten nowhere, not even a peep from them. So I decided to take matters to my own hands and made my own memorial of my beloved grandmother. Diana
