Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am retired from the Navy, and have retired IN 2001 after 35 years in Law Enforcement. A couple of my hobbies are the documentation and photographing of the tombstones of the Woodmen of the World and the associated fraternal associations, and the photography and documentation of the Civil War veterans headstones where ever I come across them. I had ancestors who fought on both sides of the Civil War. My great Grandfather (Fathers side) fought Confederate (Texas Cav) and his twin brother fought Union side (Colorado Cavalry). My great Great grandfather (Mothers side) fought For the Union from Ohio. I actually actively search for both of the above mentioned types of tombstones in cemeteries where ever I happen to be. My wife usually accompanies me and assists me greatly in these hobbies.

If you have a better quality photo then the one I have posted I will not be offended if you post it.

I'll be more then glad to transfer any memorials, except for my family, to anyone who wishes them, just write and ask.

John Ogden, d. Nov 30, 1908; Buried: Greenmount Cem., Durango, La Plata Co., Colo.
Hello -

Thank you for establishing the Find A Grave Memorial (#7496873) for John Ogden, a veteran of the 3rd Wisconsin Infantry, Company K.

I am a direct descendant of one of his brothers, Caleb Smith Ogden (Find A Grave Memorial #54942126.)

I have posted some Edit information for John Ogden - the Find A Grave Memorial numbers for his parents, Abraham "Abram" Ogden and Mary "Polly" Smith Ogden, both interred at Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Dane Co., Wisconsin. Also, I have posted the birth date and location for John Ogden, as an Edit.

I also linked the Find A Grave Memorial for one of his daughters, Estella "Stella" Ogden Gonzales (Find A Grave Memorial #121026331) interred at Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., Wisconsin.

You can email me directly, moi533@yahoo.com, if you wish.

Sincerely,
Jean E. DeLauche

I have additional biographical information on John Ogden, if you wish me to supply it, so you may add it to his Find A Grave Memorial.

Edward W. Burton
Gunnison Cemetery, Gunnison, Gunnison Co., CO.

Memorial #: 63714639 Please add: Block 47, Lot 05, Plot 13.Notes: Lydia A. Burton, widow of E.W. Burton gave 3 Jan. 1893 as soldier's death date when applying for a widows pension on 17 Jan. 1893. Death place was Denver (hospital), Arapahoe County, Colorado. Their son, Edward B. Burton is buried nearby, and he had died 11 Nov 1892 (not long before the soldier and probably explains why she applied for a pension so soon after his death. Thanks, Jim, for all the work you have done on Find A Grave. Loline Sammons

RE: St. Joseph Cemetery
Hi Jim,
Yes, I did receive your responses though not able to reply back until this afternoon. Thank you so much.

Romualdo Ulibarri is not a relative but his was the only grave in St. Joseph Cemetery where my great grandfather, Telesfor Chavez, is supposed to be buried. Telesfor was a patient in the Insane Asylum (when it was called that) and died there in 1944. His death certificate indicates burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. I have Telesfor listed in a different cemetery and will now fix that.

I will save the info on the cemetery's location that you sent for 'when' I get to visit New Mexico.

Thank you again for your help.

St. Joseph Cemetery
Jim,
I noticed you posted a gravestone for a Romualdo Ulibarri #136574425 in St. Joseph Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM. Can you tell me if that cemetery is anywhere near where the old Las Vegas New Mexico Insane Asylum used to be? I ask because my great grandfather was there from 1918 until his death in 1944. His death certificate indicates he was buried in St. Joseph Cemetery but I haven't been able to find the cemetery anywhere.

Hope you can help.
thank you,
Paula Parmelee

William H Steward
Jim, I just came across the headstone picture for William H Steward in South Park Cemetery, in New Mexico. With him there is an attached wife. What information do you have that Rachel Massey was his wife? I have her husband as someone else? Need some help here.
Thanks, Carolyn Strassheim

RE: Morris--Dreamland Cemetery
I went back to the cemetery yesterday and saw the other marker that you added. I see why I missed it the first time. So glad to see our veterans honored!

RE: Morris--Dreamland Cemetery
Thank you, Jim. I appreciate that. That cemetery IS work to find people. But it is exciting when you finally come across a headstone and say "here he is!"
