PLEASE NOTE - I will NOT process edits or transfer requests that are left in my messages. PLEASE SEND AN SAC via the EDIT TAB for these requests!
I'm Mandy, and I'm a happily married mother of one living in central VA. I've always loved cemeteries, and thanks to this site I've found a great reason to spend my free time there!! Any nice weekend or evening you might run into me and my lovely assistants (son and dogs) at a cemetery in the area.
Currently I am working on documenting, in its entirety, Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg, VA. It is the second largest cemetery in Virginia, behind Arlington. This may take a while! I have to give credit to the many members who have listed memorials from Blandford already: Paula, Barbara, George, and many others, but most of all Susan - you are the best!
To my knowledge, I am of no relation to the memorials I've created, except for those listed here. If you find any errors or omissions in any of them, please feel free to contact me and I will correct them expediently.
I prefer that you use the Suggest a Correction function under the "Edit" tab to request additions/changes or transfers - it makes it much easier for me to find the specific memorial that way. If you send me a request and I do not address it within a few days, please re-send! If you re-send and still get no response, go ahead and list my memorial on here, because I'm probably dead. :)

Thank you for taking the photo you posted to my ancestor's memorial page on Find A Grave. Since there is no name in the photo, can you inform me as to how one knows this is James' grave? Is there a registry for the cemetery? (on line or otherwise) Thanks.

I have been doing some research and it seems the Robert C. Brown had a son, Robert C. Brown. So it may be that both are buried in the same plot.
Let me know what you find.
Many, many thanks,

Thank you for the transfer and all your help!

You have two memorials for a Robert C. Brown in Blandford. Both have different dob but the same location, FF, 13, 3b.
Is this a mistake or are there two Robert in the same grave? :)

Hi, thanks for your help, this is the part of the family that's been a little difficult to track down. If it weren't for you putting this memorial on line, we would have had a lot more difficulty finding the families that moved all the way to Virginia from here in northwest Ohio. I live in the area they grew up in and where other family members stayed. Others are in Michigan which is a bit closer to research. There were 13 children altogether and the 9 or 10 that grew to maturity seemed to travel among each other quite often. Again, thanks so much for your help! Tammy.

Hi, I put in an edit for Ada's mother to link them but at this time, could you please add a note about her father? I was hoping you could just copy and paste the information. I'm working on finding his death and burial records in Paulding county, Ohio where old records are almost non-existent. If there is no luck, then I plan on doing a virtual record on him at a later time. I do know that Ada's mother moved to Findlay, Ohio after his death and is buried there along with three of Ada's sisters. He is:
Frank H. Jones
Born in 1842 in New York.
Died at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 1 day in Paulding county, Ohio. Possibly buried in Bowholtz Cemetery, Paulding county, Ohio with other family members which was within a mile of their home.
I know his age at the time of his death due to a portrait drawing of him and his wife that has the information on it.
Thank you for any help you can offer, I know you must be busy getting this cemetery online. I've done a smaller one myself with as many links as I could offer and it was a giant task. Many thanks to you for your endeavor. Tammy

Thanks for the correction of his spouse. I know for a fact I did not add the link to him. ????
I remember doing the memorial and I make mistakes but not that one ?? It was so far off the wall I would have noticed Besides his spouse is still living no need to add.

I apologize for having to submit another edit on the above named individual buried in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. I hit ISRAEL by mistake as the place of birth when it should have been Ireland.
Thanks for your help,

Mandy, I appreciate your setting up this memorial for Dennis Brislen. Just to add to your info, Dennis Brislen was the son of Timothy Brislen and Mary (Erskine) Brislen. He was born in Carbon County Pennsylvania in 1837. He died on April 1, 1865 in the Battle of Gravelly Run in Gravelly Run, Dinwiddie, Virginia.
He was the brother of Mary (Breslin) Shovlin, Bridget Breslin, Robert Breslin and Giles Breslin.
I obtained this information while researching the Bernard Shovlin family like - Bernard married Mary Breslin - Dennis' Sister. The Breslin families lived around the Carbon, Schuylkill and Luzerne counties in Pennsylvania.
thanks for establishing the memorial. The family appraciates the recognition for Dennis and his ultimate service.
