I live in Augusta County, Virginia. I started out with findagrave by listing family surnames that I am researching - Albert, Sites, & Stokes. |
The photo is the grave of my Granddad's little brother Lewis. Family members couldn't remember the location of the grave. Then one day while looking at an old photo album with my Grandma, I asked about a photo. Grandma's answer was the clue needed to find the grave. What was lost was found.
If you have the time, please stop by and visit my heroes. They have had a great influence in my life and I miss them very much. My Granddad Albert & Grandma Albert, my Great Grandma Stokes and my 2nd Mom.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Please include findagrave in the email subject line.
I will gladly add information to a memorial, but in doing so, I will link the contributor to the information provided. If you do not wish your findagrave name to be linked to the information, please do not provide it. I will not add information without the source of that information.

|CJ Moore||Picture of Brick wall with Fairview Cemetery|
Hi Mike. I recently added 5 gravesites for RAFFERTY to the Fairview Cemetery in Botecourt County, Virginia. You, in turn, added a picture of a Brick Wall with Fairview Cemetery. I have been ill and unable to work on these additions. I am getting ready to update them very soon. However, I am in question to where this wall is located?? My Picture shows an entrance with a pillar on each side. A sign on one pillar says 111 Fairview Street the other has a sign which says Fairview Cemetery Est. 1854. This is the picture I was about to add when I saw your picture. Is this the same Fairview Cemetery? I did not see a Brick Wall. If it is then where is it located? My findagrave contributor number is 48467450.
Thank you for your help. Connie

|Sue K||Confederate Cemetery Photos|
Dear Mike, I just wanted to write to say thank you for all the photos at Charlottesville, VA Confederate Cemetery. My mothers uncle is buried there. My husband and I were there in 2005 and it was aweinspiring to walk where my mothers uncle is laid to rest. I know he had a uncle who died in the Battle of Cedar Run but have never found where he is buried. I have always wondered if I could order a confederate headstone for my William Thomas Medlin who has a flat stone but I cant even remember how I located it. If you are close by and have info could you answer my message please?
Thank you, Sue K

|Rebecca ECKARD Wilson||Regarding Sites Family from Virginia:|
Hello, there. I was looking for my Great-Uncle Henry Sites Jr's parents (Henry Sites Sr., and Mary C. Allen) from the Charlottesville, Nelson Co., Virginia, area. And I came upon your Find-A-Grave memorials for them. So thank you for submitting them. I was also wondering how you're linked to the SITES Family, pertaining to Henry Sites Sr., and his wife Mary C. Allen? Because their only child (son) Henry Sites, Jr., was my Step-Great-Uncle. Thank you for your time, and have a blessed day.

I somehow doubt the parentage of him.
His surposed mother Etta Linkous died 1927 and the surposed father Willie (Bill) J Sheppard (1917 - 2005) was married to Dolly Mae Fain Sheppard (1924 - 2006).

I am trying to figure out which of the above 2 cemeteries John Augustine Adams would be buried in. He was killed at the Battle of Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862. He was with Co F 24th Regiment from Gwinnett Co. Ga
THANKS for any help!

Hi, I would love to add this headstone photo and any others related to my family tree on Ancestry.com with the photo credit to you of course. Please let me know if you object to this or to let me know how you would prefer the photo credit worded. If I do not hear from you , I will assume it is okay to use it. Thanks so much.

Thanks you so much for the photo take of the cemetery, I have visited the cemetery and saw my brother-in-law grave. Some of his brothers haven't been in good health and haven't been able to travel to the cemetery to visit William M. "Bill" Wood grave and this give them an opportunity to see the cemetery where he is buried, but not his plaque, do you think we could get a picture of it for them to see. Thank You.
