Bio and Links
Bio Photo Lots of information about our family was on the verge of being lost, so I began researching both my and my husband's extended families plus families from the small towns we both came from.

Family connections expanded. I received much material for the Dare/Twitty/Baker family from Dare researcher M.Doris Provart Gower, who graciously agreed to my sharing with you. Darnell-Hollaway/ Holloway family got help from Evah Hollaway Lager Picard, Grace Norris Hollaway and Lee Ann Hollaway Bailleu.

The Zahn/Brand/Schneider Kukuck & Voigt family was assisted by Talisman Temple Barbosa, Mary Farley Cummins and David Peipho. The Steinberg/ Koerner family has research from cousins Don & Janet Dickason, Lois Steinberg Adams and Ruth Koerner McCabe.

The extended Martin/Snelling/Shupe family come from my interviews with family members and the research of Terry Harper of Albion, IL, a fellow family member.

The Witt/Hoffman/Franks family has material from Mary Ann Franks O'Neill, Eleanor Hensen Kerber and the website of John Franks.

The Gerken-Helmers (Meyer/Martens, Brandt) family is mostly mine with help of cousins Mary Ann Hill and Eunice Martens Blissard.

Other individuals added information for their extended family. Most of them are credited in their additions. St. John's Lutheran church of Anchor, IL has a public website which gave much data for my great-grandfather and those families who lived near my childhood home.

Now I can share what I've found with others and get even more accurate data. I have used the best information I have, but will gladly correct errors and add or subtract material or transfer memorials if requested by someone closer.

Happy family researching!!

RE: Ashley infant
If you'll tell me the memorial number, I'll be happy to transfer this little one's memorial to you for safekeeping. You'd be surprised how many unnamed babies there are with the same last name. It's a shame we can't give them full names all these years later. My maternal grandfather had two siblings who died at birth or soon after and weren't given names. :-(

RE: Jim McPherson's obituary
I am related to the McPherson's here in Illinois. I would be James' grand nephew a couple of times removed but it would be a honor to manage their memorials. I do also have his wife's obituary from 2005.

Edith McPherson.

GIBSON CITY -- Edith Irene McPherson, 76, of Gibson City died at 9:25 p.m. Friday (Aug. 12, 2005) at ASTA Care Center, Paxton.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lamb Funeral Home, 303 N. Church St., Gibson City, Steven Bonk officiating. Burial will be at Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. McPherson was born Dec. 1, 1928, in Summerset, Ky., a daughter of Ola Otis and Effie C. (Roy) Maupin. She married James E. McPherson Feb. 8, 1947, in Paxton. He died March 18, 1999.

Surviving are three sons, Michael McPherson; Dale (Janet) McPherson of Elliott and Wayne (Bev) McPherson of Gibson City; two daughters, Lyndia (Jack) Miller of Foosland; and Sharon (Ronnie) Shepherd of Champaign; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Leonard Maupin of Bloomington; Donald Maupin of Eureka; Bobby Maupin of Bloomington; Sherman "Hobb" Maupin of Oregon; and Kenny Maupin of Kankakee.

She also leaves behind her faithful companion and best friend Gracie, her dog.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, one brother and one sister.

Edith lived in Gibson City since 1969. She was a nurse's aide for many years and a day-care provider for many children in the area. She was a Telecare volunteer.

Thanks for everything,

Jeff Allen

RE: Jacob Shupe, Sr.
The tombstone states that this Jacob was 68 when he died, so that matches the 1788 birth date, as he died 26 May 1856.
Thanks again!

RE: Jacob Shupe, Sr.
The Jacob Shupe this memorial is for is Jacob Shupe, born 1788. Someone has changed his birthday. Are you the one who put the birthday on? If so, can you just change it to 1788, so it can be correct. It was correct back in Oct 2014.

The other Jacob Shupe, born in 1798, is this Jacob's brother, John's, son.

These two keep getting mixed up. This John married Mary Magdalene Phillippi. The Jacob born in 1798 married Delila Moyes.

Thanks!

RE: William McKee Jr.
This is all I have for documentation.
Genealogical Serendipity Vol. 1, Doliante. 1965. Alexandria, VA Page 202 "X. William Mackey, Jr., b. c1795, prob. in Pendleton Dist., S. C.; d. Jan. 4, 1835, Warren Co., Tenn. He is buried near his parents on the home farm [Pleasant Cove, Warren Country, Tennessee]. He appears to have married and had issue, as he was listed in 1830 Census for Warren Co. (p.188): 2m (under 5) 1m (5-10) 1M (20-30) 1f (20-30). There are a number of deeds on the books in Warren Co., Tenn. in his name. No details." Also Tombstones are pictured with inscriptions opposite page 193. The location of the tombstones, as of 1964, was on "the old Palo McVey" farm. The farm is located in Pleasant Cove which is about 5 miles from McMinnville, Tennessee.

RE: Dr. Harry Puckett,
Did you click your "contributor tools" under your name in the left hand box and then click on the edits in the top right hand corner. Nettie's # is #121328181. For some reason, findagrave messages are not always coming through in an email. You may find other messages in the edit box for you to check on. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks.
