The descendants of the old settlers, those who cleared the land and first upturned the wild sod to the sun, should see that the doings of those early years are fittingly remembered and recorded.
It was once remarked by a great writer that those who take no interest in the deeds of their ancestors are not likely to do anything worthy to be remembered by their descendants.

Please leave flowers or memorials on my memorials, I believe everyone deserves flowers, and I have a great family. Thank you in advance.
A BIG thank you to those who send histories, death notices, obits and links to add to the memorials. They are wonderful additions.
You may use my pictures and information for your family trees but I do like credit. This is all put on findagrave for your family trees because so many people have helped me with mine. Thank you.

Please read Find A Grave's Transfer Requirements before requesting a transfer "THE FIND A GRAVE GUIDELINES FOR TRANSFERRING MEMORIALS ARE: Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grand-children, Grandparents, and Great-grandparents. Please use the "EDIT" tab to ask for a transfer BUT PLEASE do no ask for a transfer that is not within these guidelines and PLEASE STATE YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO THE DECEASED.
Putting requests on this site you will be ignored, and erased. Ignorance is not bliss it is just embarrassing for you.

For extended family members you can add
Virtual Cemeteries as we have done.

PLEASE USE the "EDIT" TAB ON THE UPPER RIGHT SIDE OF THE MEMORIAL TO SEND CORRECTIONS AND REQUESTS FOR TRANSFERS. Will gladly add any obits and will add links to family members. "

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out On polished, marble stone.
It reaches out to all who care It is too late to mourn.

You did not know that I exist You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our heart contracts and beat a pulse Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled One hundred years ago Spreads out among the ones you left Who would have loved you so.I wonder if you lived and loved,I wonder if you knew That someday I would find this spot, And come to visit you.

Could you explain why you wanted the father removed, but not the mother?

RE: Silas Gordon
Hi, Barbara,

I'm sorry to put you to the trouble, but I really appreciate your help. Of course, I could be wrong, but I'm just not seeing his being moved - most of his kids were in MI when he died, and it was just his wife and three babies in Greenwood. Putting up a marker there makes more sense than actually relocating him. And the longer he would have been buried after his death, the better Greenwood's records are. The combination of dying in MI, being in cemetery records there, and no entry for his burial in Greenwood records strongly suggests that the marker in Greenwood is a cenotaph. But we'll see what, if anything, your lady finds.

Again, thank you so much for your work and your help!

Take care.

Hello Barbara, I submitted edit requests to add his complete dates and places of birth and death. And to link him to his parents. The sources were his obit, census, military and family records. Thanks for having created his memorial. Paul Turner

Ms LeClaire,I'm sorry I gave you the wrong number, it's 55622160. I followed your directions on where to go on the edit page, and I saw nowhere I could request a transfer there.
