Thank you so much for taking the tombstone photos, and I see in the background Robert Groesbeck Snow, who I suspected of being buried there but did not know for sure until now! Would like permission to use photos in my ancestry.com family file...if allowed, how would you like photo credit given? Thank You!

I'm sending you an email with the attached copy of the original Danish birth record for Peter Christensen. His actual birth name was "Peter Jeppesen". According to Danish tradition, the male sons were given for their surname their father's first name and then they added "sen" after it. So since Peter was the son of Jeppe, in Denmark he was known as Peter Jeppesen. But when the Danish came to America, many "Americanized" their last names to be the same as their father's last name. The female daughters were also named similar, except for having "sen" at the end of their father's name it had "datter." So his sisters would have had the last name of "Jeppedatter".
I'm also going to add his birth record to his memorial you created. So you should have an email from me with a copy of his birth record. Peter Christensen Jeppesen is also my ancestor. I decend from his daughter Mary Melvina Christensen who married Charles William Tolley. How are you descended fro Peter?

Thank you for creating my ancestor's memorial (Perry Christison) #38083388. I did find some incorrect information. Someone must have told you his birth date. The birth date that you have on his memorial is incorrect. I have a copy of his original birth record. "Perry" was his nickname. His real name was Peder Jepsen (This is the name he was known by in Denmark). His father's name was Jeppe Christensen. When Peder came to the United States, he "Americanized" his last name to Christensen - the same as his father's surname. That last name has also been seen as "Christison." His nickname was "Perry". According to the Danish Archives, his original birth record states the follwing:
5 January 1837, born on the Kison North Farm (Kison Norgaard) in Estrad, Ringkøbing, Midtjylland, Denmark. "Norgaard" means North Farm, and "Midtjylland" means Central Jutland. It states his parents as Jeppe Christensen and Karen Christensdatter. Jutland is the main land of Denmark. I would appreciate you making the change. I have a copy of his original birth record if you would like to see it.
