RE: Holt
OK that would be the one with the Confederate Soldier and his wife on Yarbrough Road.
Ruth Hasten Walsh. Well since I only needed 5 minutes I trespassed and got out of there before I got caught. HA!

Ruth descends from these folks tells me this:

1. I now know who owns the property. It is Edsel Howard & wife Carolyn, 8762 Hwy 72 W Madison, Al.

2. Attorney General of Alabama says they have to protect the little cemetery and allow anyone (public) free access to the cemetery. They also advised me to call LCA sheriff. I did. Dept. Sheriff Stan McNatt is going to see what he can do. Heíll get back to me in a couple of days. He thought I should also call the Historical Society. Told him Iíd call Archives and they werenít helpful, just told me to call Revenue to get name of owner, which is what attorney generalís office did.

RE: Holt
Donnie can you narrow down which Holt Cem in what state and County. Oh you mean the one in Limestone Co AL. There are two of them? You must be thinking of the one on Hwy 251 or the Old one where the soldier is buried.

No I do not know but there is a clear field road and seems to be a clear right of way so I just barged on in.
I know a Holt man that lives on Long Road up Holt Road that can tell you. He lives on the left near the end of Long Road. Can't think of his Given name now. He is the one that told me the land owner would not care if I went without permission.

Now if you are talking about the other Holt Cem I have that too but gotta look it up, but permission is needed there.

RE: Simeon Corder
That would be wonderful. I was working on our Bryan line and came across the picture of him and his 2nd or 3rd wife? Bettie Bryan Corder,
She was my Great Grandmother Wright's sister.
I was looking at his picture and wondering if you might see he had only one arm or is it just the picture? Well it was not uncommon such an ugly war to be fought on our soil.

Newton Hodges
Donnie, I am not 100% on where Newton's grave is but I am sure it is next to Lige and Quilla gates. There are two stones and one can not be read but the other has E. Hodges. I am sure this is Evalina Hodges who was the wife of Newton and the mother of Quilla. They are in the next to the back section only about five rows or so from the back road. There is not a section to the west. I hope this helps.
