I am a direct descendant of the Richard Haines who left England aboard the ship "Amity" in 1682. He died on the ship and his wife and kids settled in NJ. Richard was my 6th Great Grandfather. There are a lot of Haines in the US from this Richard. Nathan Haines of OH was my Gr Grandfather. Ebenezer Haines who married Rebecca Berry was his father. Nathan Haines married Sarah Iiams in Grant Co., IN. I have also done a lot of research on the Iiams name. My Grandfather E. Morton Haines was born in Grant Co., IN in 1865 and moved to OR in 1892 where he lived out his life. I have a lot of family connections to Grant Co., IN.

Photo for Edward Tempest
Thanks for posting Edward's gravestone! May I post it with his military record on my site,, a grassroots military project to document the 37,000+ Vermonters who served in the Civil War?

Regards, Tom Ledoux, Webmaster, Vermont in the Civil War.

Hello again,

Lyle is no relation to me, he must have been close to another family member when I was there visiting.

Let me know what I can do to help
Have a great rest of your weekend.

RE: Wallace Derald Murray
I've been trying online too for an obituary for Florence. Tried the Oregonian and Medford Tribune. Came across Dignity and Legacy sites too. The poem was very nice and makes me think she must have had children. Wallace's obituary was basically a death notice with place of burial. No survivors were mentioned.

RE: Harrington's
Nathan, THANK YOU so much for the beautiful pictures! I wish I could see that cemetery for myself. My daughters and I spent a day and a half in Portland the end of July. I had not made this connection yet or I would have had to see the graves for myself. Although, I probably would have been pushing my luck with the daughters as I did get them to spend part of a morning at the International Rose Test Garden. I LOVE cemeteries and do volunteer photography for cemeteries in my area. We did stop at the cemetery at Nehalem and it was interesting in how it is laid out. If you like cemeteries check it out some time. I didn't realize at the time I was there that I have family from both sides buried in/near Portland. Needless to say we SO enjoyed our trip. We spent four days on the coast and flew in and out of Portland. The scenery, roads and weather were so different than here in Nebraska. Bet it is beautiful this time of year! Again, I so appreciate how quick you were to get the photos! Let me know if I can ever do anything for you. Wendy

Hello again,

Do you know when and where Florence passed away? I've been trying to find an obituary for her online.

Thank you Nathan. I didn't know she had passed away. I created a memorial and requested a photo.
