Anna Schlamp Hi, I'm Anna Schlamp's great niece; my grandmother, Bertha Strauch or Strofeld was her sister. I am trying to find Anna and Bertha's mother's name and DOB and DOD. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Linda
Catherine Schlamp I've been searching for information for what appears to be our 4th great grandmother. Do you know if she is buried next to Adam Schlamp 1801-1868 or is this her grave site? Birth: 1800 Death: Jun. 27, 1867 Note: age 67 Burial: Union Cemetery Brooklyn Kings County (Brooklyn) New York, USA Plot: 19 Record added: Feb 19, 2014 Find A Grave Memorial# 125349524 Thank you!
frederick greb This may be a coincedence, but my name is frederick greb jr. My father was born in taborton ny in 1890 and died 1954 in stamford ct. His father was Heinrich greb (henry) who married louisa cronkrite (there are various spellings) who was the daughter of the Hortons. There is rumor in the family that louisa was adopted and was mohawk or mohichan though my dna does not support that. Henry supposedly lost many of his children and his first wife to the plague around 1880. His father was Joseph Crape who came from germany in 1850 with his wife Margarett (schneider) and young son Christian. Joseph served in the Union Army and was sent home with chronic dysentary and died shortly after. He was one of the first to join and had worked in the winter as a glassblower. It was also thought that he was part of the underground railroad. They got their sand for glass from across the mt. in ma. The same wagon that came with barrels of sand from lanesboro returned with barrels that contained former slaves. Christian had a hotel/inn in sand lake ny. I was born to my father from his second wife Anna, on Oct 27, 1948. The Hortons do track back through new york and one served as an ensign in the revolutionary war. Their geneology also suggests connections through england and into roman origan. Food for thought
