I always knew that I would do some kind of volunteer work upon retiring. I came upon Find A Grave while researching our (wife and I) ancestry. I have never enjoyed photography, but I truly enjoy claiming, locating, taking pictures, and posting the marker/headstone for the requestors. My biggest disappointment is finding that a gravesite does not have a marker or headstone.

I do volunteer photos, but I also enjoy taking photos of markers for the veterans interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona and posting them to the memorial that was established by another volunteer.

I served 20 years in the United States Air Force retiring as an E7 (Master Sergeant) 1961-1981.

After retiring from the AF I was employed by the Drug Enforcement Administration as a Federal Investigator and accountant.

RE: Leona Rodden
Thank you. You never know when you are using this medium how people will react to things you thought you worded politely. I try to be light and "suggest" as I want everyone to be able to benefit from this site as much as I have. Have a wonderful day, week, etc.

Will see if I can find his parents, but most of the time there is no next of kin identified.

Joseph Marion Rodden Jr
Hi Jerry, I have Alice Moore listed as Joseph's mother. He married Pearl Parks (sister of my gr grandmother Florence Parks Ward). I just found the 1920 census in Konawa, Seminole, Oklahoma. Joseph is indexed as Sadie M Rodden b. abt 1911 OK.

Jimmie Anderton at Honeycomb cemetery
Thanks for the heads up on this memorial. FYI... This cemetery is on the Guntersville river bank and is in bad shape the last time I went out there. There are so many broken stones it is hard to mow this area and it is grown up. Most of the stones are broken or buried under dirt. I went to the library to see who might be in this cemetery when I was looking for a tombstone for someone, and came upon the name Anderton with dates. I did not see this stone in my search for the other stone. I do not know if you will be able to find this stone or not.

RE: Chuido Verlato
Forgive my poor English, I use google translator. Theresa Ludwick Verlato lives in Yardley (a borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania) and is very familiar with the history of Verlato. His grandfather was Italian. If you use Facebook, you will be able to easily find and contact and she will be happy to talk with you. I would like to know what is your relationship with Verlato. You can view other tombs of Verlato in Italy in my www verlato (dot) org.

Ciao, Luca

I just double checked and you were correct on your listing, she is in lower Cane Island Cemetery. Thanks!

Hi Jerry!!! I'm almost positive it's the upper part of the cemetery. I'm waiting on a date for Marylene Goldsmith, but I do know she was cremated in Carmel, CA. I think the date will be around 2002, but I want to make sure I add factual dates, if I can find them.

Hi Jerry,
I went out to the cemetery a few hours ago, took a photo of the new marker, and added it to your brother's memorial page. Take care.
