Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in northeastern New Jersey, and now live in the beautiful north Georgia mountains. I am a late bloomer in regard to researching the history of my ancestors (who isn't?), but absolutely love the journey! I have many ancestors in New Jersey and look to add them to my memorials on F.A.G. as often as possible. I also have an extensive family tree on, and learn of new family members all the time. Many of my ancestors are from Germany, Scotland, Ireland & England, and settled along the east coast, mostly in the NJ & NY area. My current research interests include my mother's side of the family, surnames Betz, Sleith, King, McHoldt and Hall. My main goal here is to help others with their ancestral research and have alittle fun along the way, and will not let certain members who have nothing better to do with their time than try to take that away. Please contact me if you would like to use any of my pictures. I am also willing to transfer any of the memorials I have done volunteer photos for or any other memorials I have posted here in north Georgia. Most of them are not related to me, but they should be related to you in someway. In addition, and I am saying this in the nicest possible way, rudeness will be ignored, but extreme rudeness will simply NOT be tolerated!!

RE: James Edward Monahan 49267071
Pam - not a brother at all. Do the following to see how to link a name to a memorial:

Go to your profile page;
Click on Help with Find A Grave;
Scroll down to the section labeled "Submitting Information ..." (4th section);
Scroll to the bullet "How do I add a link ..." and click on it;
Read the instruction and give it a try.

Note: copy/paste the appropriate "coding" into the bio versus attempting to re-type it yourself.

It might take a few attempts for it to look right in the bio section.

Pam - glad to help, and great you could grab a copy of the accident off BTW, the other naval officer killed has been entered on findagrave, so if you wish, you could link the name of ENS D. P. Werner to his memorial (#57226600) when you display the news article.

RE: James Edward Monahan 49267071
I fond a specific hit on by using his full name. Also narrowed it by entering the year 1946. If you don't have direct access (a Google search with the same key words should get a link and a few displayed words from the article), let me know. I think I can capture the page and send it to an email address as an attachment of some type. Mike

RE: James Edward Monahan 49267071
Reading the obit for Patricia (65119467), it clearly states her Navy husband, James, died in 1946, in a plane crash. There's a newspaper account of the accident taking place in New York; plus additional NYC records of his death.

I don't believe there's a "second" James E. Monahan, who dies in Ohio, in 1946, also the result of an aircraft accident.

The only mix up were the parents, and that appears to be straight now. :)

RE: James Edward Monahan 49267071
Pam - It looks like the relationships are straighten out. Thanks.

My bad, as I should of stated "placed" instead of "sent", since you're correct, there's no message sent if someone places an edit request.

BTW, if you wish to add the cause of death; LT. Monahan was involved in a fatal aircraft accident when approaching the Naval Air Station, located at Floyd Bennett Field.

ames Edward Monahan 49267071
Hi - I've sent a series of edits regarding this memorial - the locations and parents are mixed up, and should be instead assigned to a James E, Monahan #53616775 (of NJ); he's a child of Robert & Edna.

I've submitted to you the correct parents for LT J. E. Monahan, USNR, of Wisc. (see the headstone photo).

If you have any questions, just ask, the records are available - which is how I discovered the mix up. Cheers, Mike

RE: Edith (Wahl) Essex Find A Grave Memorial# 73724243
Hi, You're very welcome, glad I was able to help. I do not have any info on who Edith's biological parents were. I do have a transcribed copy of the 1885 NJ. State Census for her. She was living with Anthony and Louisa in New Providence, her age was listed as between 5-20 years old. The only other people living in the household were Joseph and Mary Wahl. Since both of them were aged "over 60" I would think Joseph is Anthony's father, but I am not sure Mary is his mother, but perhaps a 2nd or 3rd wife of Joseph.
Since Edith was living with Anthony and Louisa in 1885 I would think her birth parents may have died sometime between her birth and 1885.
I do have copies of the 1850, 1870, and 1880 census' for Anthony, as well as a copy of his marriage to Louisa in 1872.
I would be happy to email this info if you would like to have it. Al

Edith (Wahl) Essex Find A Grave Memorial# 73724243
Hi, My name is Al Stitt, I am writing in reference to the above posting. Recently I was looking into the family of a friend whose 92 year old mother is related to Edith (Wahl) Essex and her Husband John Edmund Essex. I noticed there was no reference as to where they were buried. In doing some research I found that John died 1/23/1907 and was buried on 1/26/1907. Edith was buried 6/23/1907. They are buried in the same grave in The Evergreens Cemetery in Brooklyn NY.
Also known as: Cemetery of the Evergreens, Evergreens Cemetery. I received this info by calling the cemetery this morning. Please feel free to update their dates of death and burial location to your posting if you wish.
Contact info shown below for your convienience.
Thank you helping me find them.
Sincerely, Al Stitt

I see a photo you posted of William and Ella (Hildebrant) Hoffman and I'm new to this site so not sure how you come in contact with the photo. I'm their great grand son.
