You are welcome. I figured since a headstone hasn't been found yet, the obit would at least be something.

Thank you for the additional information. I have posted to his memorial. They have his wife's date of death different than the information I found on http://gen.marion.lib.in.us/search_form.asp

Ha - I figured out how to send a message to you. I found two more persons of interest tonight - Minnie Rockwell Peck (1861 - 1939) #55093437 - her maiden name Peck isn't included and Find A Grave has possession. Her husband was James Francis Hopkins (b. 1 Nov. 1856) 55093436. He was a son of Philip Anderson Hopkins and Mary Ann Kelly. Their son Carl Peck Hopkins was born 19 Nov 1892 in Denver, Co and died Feb 1975 in Portland, OR. He married Leonore Peasley Hurdle (I have a lot on the Peasley and Hurdle families). She was born 20 June 1892 in Decorra, IL. Their ch were Carol Jane, James Francis, William Elwood, and Richard Alvin.
Leonore Peasley Hurdle was the daugher of William Elias Hurdle and Bertha Alice Peasley. Bertha Alice was the daughter of James Ferninand Peasley (1822 - died 1903 in Terre Haute, IL) and Sarah Jane Tarleton (1835 - 1911). Don't know if any of this on Minnie Rockwell and James Francis Hopkins will help you, but I thought I'd send it anyway, since I have no way to add it to Find A Grave - Ruth

|Shawdau||Lydia Ann Snoots|
It's Snoots, not Snooks - she's a sister of one of my relatives, Emily Snoots (1832 - 1925) - Emily Snoots married Peter Cranston Bainter - my great uncle is named for him. Well, if Lydia Ann Snoots and Stiles Jackson Hanks are Henry Clay Hanks' parents, wow - the Shaws are related to the Pecks again.

No. My siser's on vacation in Nebraska - if the weather weren't so bad, I'd ask her to stop in Menlo, Iowa on the way home and see if she can find anything else.
Do you have Stiles Jackson Hanks, Jr. as Henry Clay Hanks' father? He was born in 1824 and died in 1900 in Missouri. He was married to Lizzie A Snooks and he was a Civil War soldier. For siblings, Henry Clay had Susan Virginia Hanks and Charles Mahlon Hanks. Don't know about this - what it's based on, but probably worth looking into.
Hope your New Year's going well!
