Bio Photo My "home place" is St. Clair County, Michigan, particularly the St. Clair River District, where my families have lived since 1835. It has been my privilege to have served with both the East China Historical Commission and the St. Clair Historical Commission.

I love walking through old cemeteries and have enjoyed preserving in film the old forgotten and crumbling, broken stones. The children's stones with the little lambs particularly touch my heart.
Lovely too, are the pictorial spiritual testimonies carved in stone that adorn many of the old graves, pointing to the life to come, the life that knows no death.

"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die." John 11:25

Sorry, I don't have any information on Mary's father. My connection to the family is through her husband Robert Washburn.

Priscilla Parr
East Marion Cemetery
Thanks for suggesting a trip to East Marion Cemetery. It is fondly called "The Old Dam Cemetery" by my family. My mother couldn't remember how to get there when we visited in the 1990s so we asked at the community center in Deckerville. One old guy hooted and hollered, "The Old Dam Cemetery, of course I know where it is!" What a kick!

East Marion Cemetery
My name is Priscilla Dawe Parr. I have a number of relatives buried in East Marion. When you were there did you take pictures of all the gravestones? If so, so you have plans to add them to the cemetery. I live in Las Vegas so getting the stones into Find A Grave would be a problem for me. You can contact me privately at the contact information on my contributor page. Thanks for all your work in the Thumb area.
