If we don't do this in memory of our ancestors who will?|

Yep. Well, I didn't but the W&L students who took the pix, did. It works wonderful for a quick pix read BUT it chemically discolors the stone, very unevenly. Very bad indeed. No one has come up with a safe substitute. Deeds done, at least we can reap the reading rewards and correct some mistakes. Thanks

|Dennis Hubscher||Pvt George Washington TODD|
Dear Scott: On your bio posting for my relative, Pvt. George Washington Todd, buried at Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, you end with the following: NOTE-Chris Ferguson in SOUTHERNERS AT REST has birth date as 1819 and unit as 46th N.C. (Scott).
Based on my discussion with a lady at the VA when processing the order for this headstone, I was told of a second George W. Todd of N.C. who was a "dwarf" and obviously not my relative buried at Hollywood. I'd appreciate your removing the reference to Chris Fergusion, as it is not appropriate to this burial. Thank you for your consideration.
|Ray'nJay||RE: Pvt. Robert Henry Cassels (# 11355323)|
Well, I just came across the information I was seeking on Pvt. Robert Henry Cassels. It's the muster roll for Company D, 35th Regiment:
Cassels, Robert H. private September 23, 1861.
Wounded at Cedar Run, Va. August 9,1862.
Died of wounds August 19, 1862. Buried in
Confederate Cemetery at Charlottesville, Va.
It's on the Georgia GenWeb, at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/military/civilwar/rosters/35thcod.txt
Now you have all the information we discussed.

Scott I really don't know. The marker is in Brownwood Cemetery. Could be he's not buried their. A marker could have been placed their for him.

Valley Bethel Cemetery is apparently now known as Big Valley Cemetery. George McAllister has a record and photo at Big Valley as Find A Grave Memorial# 52930221.
I have copies of published cemetery listings under the former name. If you know how to create a cross-reference from Valley Bethel to Big Valley, or can pass this on to someone who does, I would be grateful.
