Rev. Dr. Nelson A L Weller
I just stumbled on to you listing of a Shouse and see you name is Shouse (perhaps by marriage) but I contact Shouses when ever I find them. I am a Shouse Family historian in NC who is the head of the Shouse Family page on the web site and also author of 2 books on the family. I am happy to share informarion with anyone else researching the femily history. we do limit our selves to the descendants of Johann Adam Schauss the immigrant who came to Phila. 01 Sep 1736. If you have any interest, you can contact me at

You have solved quite a mystery with your photo today. 19 Trees have her listed on Ancestry and no has a date of death. Kudos! Are you on Ancestry? If so, you should post your picture there. If not, may I have your permission to post the photo in my tree?

Sears/Siers in Canaday Cemetery
Thank you for attempting to get a photo of Marion and Lucinda Ellen Sears/Siers headstones. I'm not sure why neither could be located. The records state they are both buried there.

Thank you,
Amy Gibson

RE: Canaday Cemtery
Susan, thank you so much for all of the photographs you posted today. It really helps, but it also brings more questions to mind. May I ask who the person is that takes care of the cemetery, and do you have any contact information for him? I am glad he has created a map, but 20 years ago means there are many graves that probably are not listed. Certainly there are old cemetery records somewhere. I just created a memorial for Vada Canaday, Carna's wife. I had not been able to find burial information for her online. Would you please post your photo on her memorial # 137869328 now? Did you happen to see a headstone for William's wife, Marinda Celia Lilly Canday? I have not been able to locate death or burial records on her. I see Minnie is listed on Londa Canaday's headstone, but the date of death was not completed. Did you happen to ask the caretaker, if she is buried there and maybe the headstone engraving was not completed? I hate to list her as being in the cemetery, if she maybe remarried or moved away with children and was never placed there.

I am sorry for all of the questions. Thanks for all of your help, I really really appreciate it. I am in Florida, so your legwork really helps me!
