I am a retired Building and Environmental Consultant and live in Halifax, Yorkshire, England. I was born in a village in the East Riding of Yorkshire and had 3 older brothers in WW2, one a Sgt Pilot of a Hurricane was killed in the Battle of Britain, another taken POW in Greece and spent the rest of the war in Germany. So I am particularly interested in those who served in wars.
I am a member of The Crimean War Research Society and will add names to my Virtual section.
I worked in Ireland, Kenya, Uganda [ married there ] and Rhodesia [ now Zimbabwe ] and visited for work, Sudan and Baghdad [ New Airport ]
I have been involved in Scouting, Britain & Yorkshire/Cumbria in Bloom and Keep Britain Tidy.
Have travelled to Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, South Africa, Nambia and a good few times to the USA | |

 | Sipling Brothers Hello Mark,
I read with interest your comments on the two Sipling brothers sadly killed in WW1. Whilst my own research into the Neall family led me to the same conclusion I do hope that you will not mind me pointing out a minor error in your additional information published on Find A Grave.
The mother of the two soldiers was indeed Ellen Neall the daughter of George and Damaris Neall, however she was in born in Brigg, Lincolnshire in about 1862 and not Yorkshire.
She can be followed through the census returns up until her marriage to Francis Sipling on 2 March 1880 but with a little difficulty due to the variations in the spelling of the families surname.

 | Emma Ethel Steadman (Jones) Mr. Andrews, I am working on my wives family tree and I added a memorial for Emma Ethel Steadman maiden name Jones. To the Heckmondwyke Cemetery. After I posted the memorial I went to request a photo of her head stone and any other members of her family. There was no place to request it on find a grave. I am hoping you can help me out by getting those photos or know of someone who lives nearby that could do it. I believe her Parents fred Thomas Jones and Phoebe Jones maiden name Styles is also buried there. Any assistance from you, I would be very grateful. Thanks Dave Baird, | | | International Wargraves Photography Project
 | Ellyards I received three SACs from you with the above surname but no other communication.

 | Flowers Thank you for the flowers added to the memorials of my grand uncle James Tonkiss and my wife's grandfather John Charles Williams. It is good to know they are remembered and honoured by others as well as their own family. | | | Ray Henry
 | Frank Algernon Ball Thought you might be interested in the memorial for Frank A. Ball (Algernon Merryweather's grandson). 74283592
Note his cause of death, which explains Algernon's early death.
Hope this is of interest. RH | | | Ray Henry
 | Mary Ball Mark,
Added the information. Thank you. | | | sleuthesthedead
 | Mary Ball you can add Block 1 Lot 3 grave 6 as the location where Mary Ball is buried at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo, ND. However, there is no stone for Mary, she is buried along the road in the open space between the 2 stones in the photo I posted on her memorial. | | | | [View all messages...] |
