There is a notation in Ancestry regarding his enlistment that does not designate branch of service. States enlisted at Fort Macarthur in San Pedtro, California.

Hi, Domi,

Aside from the information on his memorial page, I can only tell you that he was born in Dedham, Maine (not Massachusetts) on 22 April 1919. There was no local obituary published for him. His enlistment papers show he was enlisted in the Materials Branch as a Warrant Officer....most of this and other information can be found at

RE: Thomas V Trengrove
I have been researching and Thomas is still alive and well in a Veterans Nursing Home in Fl. I was in contact with his daughter-in-law. He is 95.
Anything I can ask his son when he calls me?

Thomas Trengrove
Is it possible that his remains could have been sent to St. Catharine's Cemetery.

duh. Had I read your biography I would have known that you were the fellow from Belgium. Will get back to you if I find out anything.

You are welcome. I also took and posted the picture of the other side of the headstone which has his wife's information. They are both buried in the same plot there. You might be able to use her information to find out more about Ira if you connect him to his wife. I do not hunt up the obituaries or have any access to them. Good luck.

Domi, his obit is shown on his Find A Grave memorial. It indicates he was a merchant. I take it from how it reads he owned a grocery. There is not mention of military service.
