I have been researching my family history since 1987, over twenty years now. I am an avid reseacher and documentation is my pride. |
I have a large collection of funeral memorbilia and do Victorian mourning talks. I had my display at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI for many years.
I have taken photos of all the burials in Dry Branch, Eastview, Shiloh and Howe Cemeteries in Benton Co, TN and added them to FAG. I have also taken many photo at Dalton Cemetery for family.
Enjoy visiting cemeteries and finding memorial symbols while taking photos for my family history volumes.
I take pride in joining this wonderful group of contributers on Find a Grave. Most of memorials have added information. I am not about numbers but want to assist others in finding more information about their family members.
I want to thank Rick Lambert for all the work he has done in Benton Co, TN cemeteries with memorials entered and photographs taken. I also want to thank him for all the tranfers he as given me. I will take good care of them all.

Delk Cemetery you listed Thomas in is in Maury County, Tennessee.
|Janet Roberts||Delk Cemetery|
You have a Thomas listed in Delk Cemetery without any other name and no birth or death date. I have no photo of a tombstone nor have a seen one for a Thomas. May I ask why you think there is a Thomas buried in this cemetery?
|Barb ||James Greer & Julia Harris Greer|
I am trying to obtain information to add to my family tree and came across your name in Find a Grave. You are listed as a person who is a contributor for my great grandparents on my fatherís side.
The reason I got started on this venture was that my grandmother was very secretive about everything concerning where she came from and anything about her ancestors and it made me become interested in playing detective regarding her history. When I began my search, I had no trouble finding her and her parents, but then ran into nothing in being able to trace her heritage back any further on either her father or mothers side.
The husband is James Greer and he married Julia Ann Harris on October 21, 1849. Subsequently, they moved to Hoisington, Kansas where they lived for many years. They were taken back to Benton County, TN for burial. James was born in 1830 and Julia Ann was born in 1835.
If in any of your searching and knowledge of Benton County, TN, you have any knowledge of where I might go for additional information I would appreciate any help you might be able to share with me.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

|Janice Fry||Woods - McKeel Cemetery|
Sharon, While in Tennessee I was able to return to McKeel Cemetery. My sister-in-law and I spent several hours there. We could not find grave markers for your family Nancy & George Wood. Many stones could not be read. There are areas of the cemetery with no markers at all or just a field stone. While in Tennessee, I talked with Sue Bell, she helps with McKeel cemetery. She said, the man that took care of the cemetery recently passed away. There are no records of the older grave sites, plot number, etc. Like all old cemeteries, they have a hard time getting people to support the upkeep. The only Woods, I could find markers for were Fred Woods 1895-1982 & Florence Lescure & Paul Virgil Woods. Sorry, Janice
|Shirley Stewart Milford||RE: Ollie Brown Mealer / Nimmos|
Thanks, Sharon. I too have been searching for Viola Mealer. Do you know her husbandís name?
Also, do you happen to know where Maud Chandler Mealerís mother Katrina Nimmo Chandler is buried AND/OR where Katrinaís mother Millie Ann McBride Nimmo and stepmother Sarah Jane Winsett Nimmo are buried? I finally found James Isaac Nimmo after much searching!!
One would think with a name like Nimmo they would be easy to find, but that ainít so!! I have found so many different ways that Nimmo has been spelled!
Again, thanks Ė I do appreciate all the work you do!!
|Shirley Stewart Milford||RE: Ollie Brown Mealer|
I really thought it was Ollie but the date was off. I kept looking at it, and started seeing an 8, but didn't want to rely on my own sight. So I asked a few others and they said it looked like an 8 to them too. haha
Are you family? You mentioned you linked him to his family. I have been searching and searching for James Isaac and wives Millie McBride and Sarah Winsett. I just found James Isaac but still can't find Millie and Sarah. Do you know where they are buried? Sometimes it seems people hide from me - they are so difficult to find! : )
|Lynn Nolan Molanders||Richard Nolan/Nolen/Noland|
I recently viewed a record on Familysearch.org that states the Richard Nolan is buried in the Utley Cemetery... I know the name has changed. You took over one of my great uncles memorial; Howard Nolan. I believe Richard to be his father. Would appreciate any help finding his grave and getting a photo of it. Hope to hear from you soon...
