I have waundered through cemeteries since I was a teen, always admiring the headstones and wonderiing what the person beneath it was like. Thanks to this online world, knowing about those gone on and their legacy is much easier. I draw strength from so many of the lives lived and stories told here.

I thank those of you who have left a token on my mother's memorial and left such kind words for me as well. One day, we shall all meet where death no longer lives.

Till then, God bless.

RE: Grandparents
As far as I know, we have no relatives in England.

Merry Christmas
I racked my brain to come up with something to send out that would say just how I really felt about my friends here on Find A Grave. I looked at poems. I looked at cute jokes. I looked at quotes. After looking and looking I finally found exactly what it was I wanted to say. It's from "It's A Wonderful Life" and is the inscription found in Clarence Oddbody's copy of "Tom Sawyer" at the end of the movie.

It says: "Dear George, remember no man is a failure who has friends. Thanks for the wings, Love Clarence."

We are so lucky here on Find A Grave to have such wonderful and supporting friends. Thank you for being my Find A Grave friend and for remembering my loved ones throughout this past year.

Merry Christmas!

Cheers - Kathie

RE: Grandparents
Sorry I am so slow in replying to your note. I don't think we have any relatives in England. It is close to Germany, so some may have moved there. As far as I know all my roots came to the USA from Germany in the 1860's thru 1880's.

Thanks for your kindness.

I need your help again!!!!
Would you please consider leaving flowers for a young soldier who lost his life in Iraq? Today is his 26th birthday and he has very few flowers and notes even though his memorial was created shortly after his death in July 2007. His name is SGT Nathan S. Barnes memorial #20515057 (I've also created a link on my profile page).

SGT Barnes joined the Army so that he could use the GI Bill to become a Physician's Assistant. It was his plan to return to Iraq so that he could help the people there as a PA. He especially loved the children of Iraq and whenever he had goodies or found toys he would give them out to the children. His fellow soldiers loved SGT Barnes and his death affected them deeply.

He is one of those special people that comes along once in a lifetime and you just can't forget.

He loved his family beyond words. He was very close to his parents and his siblings and he is missed by them more than words can express.

I will be going to his grave-site later today to leave flowers for his birthday and I hope that you will please help me remember this special young man on his birthday by leaving him flowers and notes on his memorial!!

If you ever need my help with a memorial needing flowers and notes please don't hesitate asking me. After all you have done for me it's the least I can do for you.

I'm passing this on for another Find A Grave member. They would please like for us to go and leave flowers and notes for this young man who recently lost his life.

Thanks for your help and please pass this information on.

My best - Kathie

RE: Grandparents
EVERYONE in our family is from Germany. One family originated in Turkey, but all immigrated to the USA from Germany...all from Northwest Germany around Aurich in Ostfreisland. If there are any Englishmen in our group, they are posing as Germans. Ha ha.

All the graves in Nebraska with Kleen, Fegter, Yelken, Frerichs, Blank and some Schmidts are my relatives. I've been researching my family tree for over 30 years and have found about 130 grandparents.

What are your family names?

Hi! I have seen your name and the flowers you've left at some of my relatives' graves. Could we be related?

PLEASE REMEMBER HIM!!!
Ethan Jonathan David Stacy
Memorial #52273592

This sweet little boy died a horrific death at the hands of this mother and step-father.

This happened locally here in Utah. This poor little boy came to spend the summer with his mother (per divorce agreement). His father had no idea of what he was sending his little boy into.

Ethan's mother's boyfriend (not yet her husband) tortured this sweet little angel on a daily basis. Scaling him in hot water, beat him mercilessly, staved him, and locked him away in a confined space. He died from his abuse and neglect.

After his death his mother and step-father took his little body and mutilated it so that he could not be identified and then burned it before finally burying him up in the mountains.

We need to remember this poor little soul!!! No child should have to go through this and no child should be desecrated as little Ethan Stacy was.

I will be attending the trial of these two monsters.

Thank you for you consideration. And please tell your other Find A Grave friends.

Best regards - Kathie
