To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....

First, I don't link to Unknown Burial Site Memorials as Unknown Burial Sites shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site.

Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".

Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.

You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.

Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.

Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

Hi Linda - You are right -I did copy Rebecca Emmett's memorial . I will try to contact her and ask her if she will put both entry's in . I don't do this for notoriety . I don't try to beat the numbers- I am only interested in making it easy for other people to find their ancestors . I've had people to copy my photos and it does not bother me ,because I think most Find A Grave members do it to help others . I don't ride shot gun on anyone .

Hi Linda : Its people like us, that makes Find A Grave work better . When a person makes a intry on Find A Grave , they should make husband and wife seperate . I was looking for Charles H. Childress , but could not find him . A friend of mine knew who he married and gave me her name . I found Charles , because of who he married .
so I made a new intry . jerry38@msn.com

Roman Numberals
Well, guess what, I live in Canada, and the way we were taught was not to use letters, but to use numbers.

Seeing that this is an American based and owned site, I will change, reluctantly, because I do not agree. If one is talking about numbers, then one uses numbers.

You have suggested two corrections.
Correction 1: I have used the numerical numbers 111 and not the letters III as suggested I used. In this case I am saying third.

Correcton 2: I know to use "unknown" and not leave a blank space.

It appears to me that you seem to be "checking" my memorials, and I wonder the purpose.

Although I do appreciate corrections when valid, I do not appreciate wasting my time going over research long since completed.

RE: Husband's grave photo
Yes. I posted it because I can't post a pic to a famous memorial, so I figured my pic of the cleaner marker would be seen if it was on his wife's. Same goes for the family marker. No option to add photo on his memorial. :o(

I suppose I can send the family monument pic in an email to findagrave. When I'm back on my computer I'll do that. On the iPad now so it's kind of a pain.

I noted this morning that you had left a flower, thank you, but I thought I should tell you that I was in the middle of documenting this family, so you would have missed some of them. I have completed the family (I think) and have linked them if you want to relook.

RE: M. A. Adderhold
This is very interesting. That's exactly why I started adding the names here... There is no reason why any of these people should be forgotten.

I didn't know about the vets doing searches. That is awesome! I wonder about the two boys... Do you think you can get a transfer on them? Maybe you could add more info to their memorials.

Which one was the sailor? Have you added any extra info for him yet?

M. A. Adderhold
The dates and age match up to this MA Aderhold for 1880:

1880 United States Federal Census about M. A. Aderhold
Name: M. A. Aderhold
Age: 32
Birth Year: abt 1848
Birthplace: North Carolina
Home in 1880: Precinct 4 and 6, Hernando, Florida
Race: White
Gender: Male
Relation to Head of House: Self (Head)
Marital Status: Married
Spouse's Name: M. E. Aderhold
Father's Birthplace: North Carolina
Mother's Birthplace: North Carolina
Occupation: School Teacher
Household Members:
Name Age
M. A. Aderhold 32
M. E. Aderhold 22

But the occupation on the 1900 census states he's a cigar maker... Could be the same guy... I couldn't find him anywhere else. Maybe the First initial is a mistake. What do you think?
