Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on genealogy for about 25 years. I just found out about Find A Grave a few months ago. What a handy tool this is. I enjoy going around to different cemeteries looking at all the old headstones, and taking pictures for people who might not every see the headstonesof there ancestors if someone didn't take pictures for them.

If anyone finds an error, please let me know and I will correct it. Also anyone who would like to add something, I can also do that for you.

For over 15 years I have been seriously researching my Gibbons family, with a beginning origin in South Carolina (Joseph Franklin Gibbons 1839 and still searching for information prior to that), also researching the Paris family (Rhoda Catherine Paris) from Spartanburg, South Carolina and the Giles families from that area.

From there the search has taken me into Harlan and Bell Counties in Kentucky, and surrounding counties in VA & TN, later on to Rockcastle and Lincoln Counties in KY also. In KY families that connect with our Gibbons are: Fee's, Green, Burkhart, Hensley, Wynn, Wilson and more.

My grandfather Andrew Jackson Gibbons was born in SC, was raised and married Margaret Fee in Harlan County KY. They raised their family in Lee Co. VA. Andrew Jackson Gibbons brothers are, James Giles, John Giles, Spurgeon Gibbons, Willie Gibbons, Campbell Gibbons, Frank Gibbons II and Nathan Gibbons. No known sisters.

If anyone has information of any of these families I would be very appreciative of anything you are willing to share.

I am also working on a register for Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas.

RE: Posting living to findagrave
Dear Vernon,
As I indicated a week ago when you wrote me about this, I do not do this intentionally.

You need to use the edit button to let me know which memorials are of people you personally know are deceased. They will be removed.

Remember, when the first spouse dies, a double stone is installed with the living spouse's birth info but no death info. The living spouse remarries and is buried elsewhere with the second spouse. When I am made aware of this situation, I notify findagrave to mark it as a cenotaph.

Also if the second spouse dies, someone must order the stone to be engraved with the death date and I have found many cases where this is not done, especially if there are no survivors to do so.
