Hi! When I discovered Find-A-Grave, I thought it was fantastic! What a great way to preserve history and help other genealogists! I immediately began photographing local cemeteries as a way to give back to others who have helped me and shared information. I love doing it and feel like I am contributing to preserving some of these really old headstones before they become so weathered and decayed that they are illegible. To each their own, but I do not believe I "own" the photographs I take nor do I feel I have a copyright on them! I just don't get that philosophy, but, like I said, everyone has their own thoughts on why they contribute to FAG. I do not volunteer to do this for "credit" in any form—I am doing it to help other genealogists as they search for their ancestor's final resting places. It is always absolutely fine with me if you use any and all photos I have taken for your ancestry.com trees or personal family trees and you do not need to give any credits to me. It has always been my idea that if we, as genealogists, do not share our discoveries and work as one big family, we are just making it harder to complete our own personal history books. As far as transfers, if you are a relative of any degree or just someone "special" to the deceased, I will gladly transfer unless they are also my own relative. I love everything historical and Find-A-Grave is a wonderful gift to us wanting to preserve history. Happy hunting! --Vickie|

Do you know of any living relatives of Mr. Bell (#95493358)that I might contact. I have a post card written by him on Apr. 1906 right after the San Francisco earthquake. Would love to see that a relative received it.

Thanks Vickey for the heads up, about the duplicate memorial for my Aunt Bessie Pharris. When I put the memorials up, I called Elmwood/Memorail Park Cemetery, and they told me that they were buried in Elmwood, This morning they told me that they were buried across the street in Memorial Park. Huh?

Vickie! thank you for responding. Congrats on getting a new job. I totally understand your current situation time wise, making a living is or should be everyones first priority. If you arent familiar with the area in question, I wouldn't expect you to spend any time on searching for a lost cemetery. I thought, or hoped, from your previous posts that you lived near the general area. If you would know anyone near the area that possibly could be of some assistance, could you provide contact information? I do not want to inconvience you in any way. Hope your job is everything that you need it to be. Thanks again for responding to my post. My E-mail, if needed is email@example.com. Happy New Year!!!!

Vicki, I would like to make contact with someone in the Neosho Co., KS area concerning my 4th Great granfathers grave. TiagoRose entered it in the Find-A-Grave site as #25717293. I have searched for this grave for many years and would extremely like to have a photo of it if it still exists. I live in WV and can't do it myself, so I would really like to get in touch with anyone who could help, even if it takes contacting the property owners. I understand that the site may be a cattle pasture, and that cattle often push over headstones, so maybe it still exists, even if it may be buried, or out of site. There were 2 other graves ( John & Ellis Stewart) that are family related in the same area. If you could help in any way please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks in advance for anything that you may be able to do. Rick
