I am working on finding the graves of the descendants of Anthony Yerkes which are listed in the "Chronicles of the Yerkes Family With Notes On The Leech And Rutter Families" by Josiah Granville Leach published in 1904, and on finding the graves of those people mentioned in "Sketches of William Hicks, Abner Hicks, Jasper Hicks, George Harris, James Crews, John Earl and something of their Descendants With Comparisons of Present Conditions of Living With Those of Sixty Years Ago" by Titus Thurston Hicks, printed in 1926 and reprinted in 1954. I have virtual cemeteries for those that I have found.
Posting photos on FindAGrave does not automatically put them in the public domain. Please ask if you want to use any photos of mine and tell me what you want them for. My email is rafbeas at aol. If I find my photos used without my permission, I will take all necessary steps to redress the situation.
Do not email transfer requests. Use the Edit tab on the memorial. Transfers outside Find A Grave guidelines will be assessed on a case by case basis. Please tell me your specific relationship to the deceased and explain what you have to contribute to the memorial that I can't add. I am glad to add any links (except to memorials with no burial location) or bio information that you send. I do not add links to memorials where the final disposition has not been determined. Do not put obituaries or other information on the deceased in a flower.

|Judith Lee Howard Shea||RE: Spelling correction Rodgers|
Okay, if it comes up that a mistake of 3 names on one stone, I'll post 3 "edits." Thanks for saying that I don't have to worry about your being offended.
The reason I might worry about such a thing was your reaction to my asking you to put the correct spelling of Malleville on the primary name on Find-a-Grave, even though on the stone, the spelling used some kind of old fashioned lettering in which the V looked like a W.
Your annoyed comment about how I "insisted," which seemed designed to make me look bad, is still on poor Thomas's memorial, in two places—one at the beginning and one at the end.
I've been thinking of asking you if you think that those comments have been on that memorial for long enough, so that you could now remove them? I don't usually see that kind of personal comment on a memorial, although of course in the back-and-forth correspondence page for people, I have.
I have had a hard time understanding what you didn't understand about using the correct spelling of the name—so that descendants doing their trees can find the guy. You said something about I "insisted" that it be the way "I think it should be." Did you do any research to learn that "I think it should be that way." because that's the way it has ALWAYS been spelled? I'm not some quirky eccentric with funny ideas, you know. Did you try and look to see why I might be making such a fuss?
I KNOW you were very annoyed at me, but perhaps you are over it by now? I hope so. Oh, I wondered if maybe you were afraid someone would criticize you for not using the spelling the way it appeared on the stone? Maybe you were afraid of someone faulting you, attacking you, or something? Anyway, that was a thought I had, trying to understand.
Anne Emerson is NOW down in St. Thomas doing some historical research for her next book, which is going to be a story about the Mallevilles etc. She is my fourth cousin, and her nth great uncle is Thomas de Malleville, too! She will be visiting his grave! (Anne wrote "Letters From Erastus" about her 2nd great grandfather Erastus Hopkins. He was married to my second great grandmother's sister. Neither one of theme had the name Malleville! hahaha—but my 2nd great grandmother did name her daughter Maria Malleville Wheelock (Smith) She dropped the "Maria" as they all did, and was called "Mallie" her whole life.)
Basically, I am very happy that you put his stone on Find-a-Grave and it was close enough in spelling for me to recognize it (remember how it was spelled first?) as I went through the lists, and that eventually you consented to naming his memorial under the correct spelling of this olde name. (Did you know that there is a High Fashion company for men's clothing in France, run by (I forget his name, Pierre, maybe?) Malleville, who also models the clothes! Google him, you'll see!
Thanks for correcting the Rodgers. I happened to see this because Maria Suhm's sister Elizabeth married John, or Johannes Rogiers, and I was looking for them. I did see a Rogers photo you took "Mrs. E. Rogers?" and I looked at the name and it looked like there might be an extra letter in there? Hard to read. I mean "E. could be "Elizabeth!"
Well, maybe it's time to get going. Hope you are having a good evening, or day!
(We can delete this after you've read it)

|Glennham||RE: Viewed stone|
Sorry, The stone of Charles Garrett, Find A Grave Memorial# 128650552, I thought I was attaching a note to his memorial.
Charles Garrett's info and that of Rosanah Kuykendall are on the same stone, lying flat among the weeds, Per the stone, after his name are the
words, "departed this life A.D. 1847 aged 51 years".
As far as can be told, it is only stone there.

I viewed this stone yesterday. The death year is given as 1847. Given the age of 51 years (also on the stone) this would make birth about 1796.

I tried to send you a private message in the Forums and it wouldn't let me. Is your mail box full or do you just have it turned off?

|Dave Lehman||RE: Obituaries|
That's what's nice about being and American, everybody has a right to their opinion. The rub is when one person attempts to force their opinion upon others.
Sure, however I don't see a transfer option in the edit tab?? Thanks

I am wondering if you would transfer: Carolyn Glennon Dyson Find A Grave Memorial# 28503732.
Thanks so much
