Retired U.S. Naval Aviator, and L.D.S. Church member, I'm originally from the Richmond, Virginia area, and now live in Central New York State, near Skaneateles. My interests include genealogy and family history, photography, and the outdoors. Find A Grave lets me combine all three, and get a little exercise in the process.|
Family names of interest include Powers, Amos, Collins, Vernon, Nuckols, Slayden, Cobler (Cobbler, Kobler, Keppler), and Atkins (Adkins), among others.
If you see a memorial I have created, and you are a descendant, or a relative, who wishes to assume custody and management of the memorial, please let me know. It would be helpful if you could explain how you are related (OK, so I'm nosy).
If you see a mistake that should be corrected, or you wish to add additional information to a memorial I have created, again, please get in touch with me (NOTE: If your article, or addition, has errors in it, please proof-read, and correct them, before sending it to me.
I prefer to NOT post information from electronically-scanned and digitized transcriptions of "old" documents that still contain illegible passages).
I approve the use of photos I have taken for personal, non-commercial use in family genealogy records. I do NOT approve commercial use of my photos by anyone. This includes for-profit (subscription) genealogy record libraries.
I have very little use for those folks who sit comfortably at their computers many miles away, and create Find A Grave memorials from transcribed records they've "discovered" on another database somewhere on the internet. This merely creates duplicate information (and adds a level of permanence to errors made by the transcriber or record keeper), and contributes nothing to the overall repository of knowledge for those engaged in research on their own family history.
You can send me an e-mail through Find-A-Grave by clicking on the "edit" tab at the upper right-hand corner of the memorial's page, or contact me at Mike13152 (at) yahoo dot com, or leave a Public Message.

Would you please post the photo you have posted to Grover S. Stoyell (#85639012) to the newly created memorial for his second wife Adaline H. Hooper (#1683329551812). I have completed a photo request. Thank you.

Thank you so much for submitting her info to me. I see she is not on my list of Oakdale burials.
I will post this to his bio.
Incidentally, I saw Nuckols in your name list. Do you have Maria Louisa Nuckols in your tree? She married Dr. Thomas Jefferson Iles and I have a gene study of TJ which I can share with you.

You're welcome, Mike, it was my pleasure. I hope you can get back here sometime and visit Boulder. The town and the campus will look quite different to you, if you haven't been here since the 60s! Take care, Amy

I will get a photo of Bert's headstone for you as well, no need to make a separate request. BTW, I enjoyed (and agree with) your profile bio quite a lot. -Amy

I was just asking for your source on the middle name. There was no other item that I could check so I added a further note asking for clarification.
There is another contributor working Miller County, MO who is throwing a multitude of names, nick-names, hyphenated names and middle names at me. She has caused me to become skeptical. I just want to make sure I'm not putting my name on something that may not be correct.

Thanks so very much for the photos of my Uncle Floyd and Aunt Mary-somehow I missed that my photo request had been fulfilled. Excellent quality of photos-much appreciated. I'm adding a photo of them at their 25th wedding anniversary as I like to add "living photos" if I have one. As a photo volunteer here in Nova Scotia, I will "pay it forward".

That's my Dad, Thanks for posting this. Haven't been back to Skaneateles in many years. It was amazing to see this posting.
|William Van Natta||van etten cemetery|
Hello, I see you took a photo of the Van Etten Cemetery, the one of the fence with the name over head. Is this name and fence still standing at the cemetery? Thank you a Van Etten descendant!
I deleted my Keith, thank you.
