I requested a transfer and didn't get it. Contacted her again to see if she will transfer my father to me.

RE: Dupes and transfers and issues
I AM on a genealogy site and have done extensive work on my ancestors and I mean EXTENSIVE. The "unknown" cemetery I was referring to "while I am working on a memorial" MEANT I am WORKING on it getting it ready to be added and I need to know the cemetery so I search for it on Find A Grave and BillionGraves, Ancestry.com, FamilySearch, and so on so that if anyone has found where they are buried I can add them to that cemetery, but if they come up as already listed on Find A Grave I DO NOT INTENTIONALLY add them. I don't know where you or Find A Grave got that idea. If the date is after a previous memorial of same person was listed I don't intentionally relist it because that is work that I do not need to do. I am busy, but I defend myself and my actions so I TAKE THE TIME to try to explain them when they are misinterpreted as is in this recent Find A Grave issue. You, as I told you, were not the only one that was ALL OF A SUDDEN sending me these "suggestions" which are actually more than that. It's do it or admin. will so ?? It seems very strange to me that I have not been SWAMPED like this by SEVERAL people who don't use a name or have open mail, etc. UNTIL NOW. I don't believe in coincidences and this isn't one either. Someone is reporting to Find A Grave every little thing they can find in my listings to be a thorn in my side and I am quite sure who it is that's done this, but I have moved on, too bad he can't. I "listen" to what others tell me on Find A Grave because they, too, have had these same or similar attacks and they, I must say, have been very right on so it seems after all. At first I thought probably isolated incidences for them but that is not the case. I was not singling YOU out as I stated in the beginning there were at least four who were loading me up systematically going through my memorials and flooding my inbox, each one of you on the very same memorials and these came in by the way, ALL WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS OF EACH OTHER. So after over a year of working on Find A Grave and having a suggestion from someone who I am in contact with to all of a sudden being flooded?? It's not just by chance. At any rate, I am wasting time with this when I have other mail to read outside of Find A Grave and my work to get to as well as removing a lot of the info I added to my memorials. I have decided I will keep my personal family business to just those who appreciate our history and Find A Grave can just have the basic info. I know you can't remove my photo of my sister in law just like I can't remove any someone else posted on a transfer, but for now I am leaving it (I already noticed that) because it's on there for my late sister in law. I am very close to my late husband's family and Shirley would be outraged that I was not permitted to manage her memorial, but that's something I am leaving here now. I have too many others who need my attention. When I search for anme on Find A Grave and the I get the notice 'NOT IN DATABASE" I can only believe that they are not in a memorial and I will add them if I decide to but if they ARE in there and come up as not in database Find A Grave needs to improve that means of locating people because we don't need to do work only to be told to remove it, etc. and as I have repeatedly stated, this has happened to me more than several times. When I was told I had duplicate memorial (that came up not in database before I listed it) I tried a little experiment by putting named into the search box that I KNEW to be already listed in memorials and when a few of those came up not in database at first I was concerned that they had been removed so I went to the cemetery I knew them to be listed as buried in and then looked for their names and BINGO. There they were by some miracle had turned up in Find A Grave after all. Gee whiz. That is way more work than I am going to do on a regular basis particularly if I am working on listing someone and don't know where exactly they are buried. I said WORKING ON them, doesn't mean working on them online you know, I have many relatives and friends I am working on trying to find dates and where they were buried. Well, back to work. Hope you have someone else to work on now and let me get finished with Find A Grave emails so I can get my other work attended to today. There's not reason Find A Grave can't be a fun site as it was for the past year except that for some reason some people prefer to dictate and use poor choices of words to express themselves or maybe that's actually how they want to come across anyway. But, I will definitely be limiting the info I add to my memorials from now on.

RE: Transfers and Dupes
a2~just wanted to mention that I finally had to write with my complaint because I was receiving MULITPLE "suggestions", etc. from at least four or five contributors on Find A Grave. I was swamped and they were the exact same memorials but from different people so you can imagine how jammed my box was. Someone told me that a disgruntled contributor apparently is trying to cause me problems and is resubmitting these same memorials with different people at Find A Grave getting them to reply to me with but that's just what someone told me was going on. I have NEVER had this problem in over a year that I've been on Find A Grave. When I get an occasional suggestion I do check into it but I want to be clear, I am intelligent, I have no problem understanding how Find A Grave works or how to maneuver, BUT what I meant when I said I put someone in the search box before I add them in a memorial and sometimes it comes up they are NOT in the database. I found out this was FAGs problem with this link because I would occasionally get a suggestion that I had a duplicate memorial and that being one that I had searched first. So I started checking this out by putting someone's name in the search box that I KNEW was already on Find A Grave to see if it came up and it frequently did not, so then I thought it had been removed so since I happened to know the cemetery they were buried it I pulled up the cemetery and searched their name there and FOUND them. Now I am not going to be able to do that for every one I put in the search box that comes up "not in the database" because many times I do not KNOW what cemetery they are buried in and I am working on a memorial for them. many of mine are my family members and much of the older family who would know where the person is buried have since passed so no one knows. I have to search, often to add info to my ancestry family tree. OK, not sure why the link I clicked for Russell Gotshall took me to you when I removed it but that's how I got you. I am sorry for any interruptions but I have been getting them for several days. Not the fun place it was when I first signed up, but still helpful and appreciated.

I got your message but when I put him in the search before adding him he is one that came up as not in the database and that is why I added him in my memorials. I knew him from the time I was born, they lived a few houses down from me when I was growing up and his son married my sister so I feel a strong family bond to those in my memorials, but it appears you had him first so I complied. Thank you for your "thank you".

Zotto duplicates
The contributor is inactive. I did not know when I "created" the memorial, that it was a duplicate. I was new to the site then. I have asked for transfers from this contributor before, and got nothing.

It is sad that I don't know where they are buried, but that is a family matter. My sister was cremated, and her daughter wouldn't answer my emails
when her father died. Not much I can do about it when I am elderly, and live out of state.

That was rude of you to catch me out on that.
Who are you anyway?

You sent me a duplicate notice. I asked for a transfer, and never got a reply, until now.

Will you please transfer him to me, he was my brother-in-law, husband to my sister, Lois.

Thank you,

DUPLICATE MEMORIALS
I received a linked message from you about a duplicate memorial I have posted. I requested a transfer from the original lister and he was GRACIOUS enough to transfer it, however, I have not had TIME to transfer all the info I have in my own memorial for my Great Grandfather, photos, etc. as I have a life. I will try to get to this today but I resent it remark I may have intentionally added a duplicate. Find A Grave needs to get their own house in order for the fact that this among a couple of other so-called duplicate memorials that I added were listed because when I checked to see if they had already been listing by using the SEARCH link they came up not in the records. Later, I get these messages and a MEM# that they were listed before mine so I tested the search link and would recommend others do it as well by adding names I KNEW were listed and several of them came up again as not in the records. I had to go to the cemetery where I KNOW they are buried and search for them that way, found them there and wondered what the problem is with Find A Grave? This is making double or triple work for me and others who innocently take a lot of time and work, research, etc to add records for the benefit of the families only to have to go through hoops to get it straightened out. I always have considerably more info and pics in my memorials than those that had them on first and I am not interested in adding numbers like so many others are on here. Everyone I list is a family member of mine or a close friend, classmate, neighbor, etc. and the family has requested me to add them. I have contacted the lister of another duplicate memorial that just this past Friday a "contributor" informed me was a mother and baby listed as one (that's how they were buried and on their grave stone)and needed to be separated into two. I did that only to have another contributor contact me yesterday that the mother is a duplicate memorial. When did that happen because she did NOT come up in the search box when I originally listed mother and child together Her name would have normally come up. So this is a real hassle for me and others who are experiencing this same merry-go-round. These are my family members but please get the SEARCH link on Find A Grave in working order. Try it yourself. Put a few names in that you know are listed already on Find A Grave and see how many actually come up. I will get to the "requests" within the time line allowed so please do not send me any further notices any one representing themselves as Find A Grave informers.. THank you.
