Jacob Park and Graceland cemetery
I contacted the Graceland cemetery staff to get info for a photo request. The staff reported that there are 20 other Parks in the records, but there is no record of a cremation or burial of Jacob Park. It appears that he is not there, you may want to contact Rosehill Cemetery nearby. Also if you contact Graceland they might send you the list of other Parks buried there. Since I am not a family member, their policy is not to provide that info to me. Regards and good luck, Bob Lerch

Mary Polly Morris McIntire Park
Just wanted to give you a heads up... ALL of Mary Polly's children have now been found and are linked to her memorial. I've revised the memorial to include several new facts, including details of some legal documents. (Unfortunately, Find-A-Grave doesn't allow us to post images of those documents anymore.) Interestingly, it looks like the family's move to Illinois was, at least in part, due to the formation of a new church... something I had not learned until recently. The McIntire children remained affiliated with that church and the Park children did not. Mary continued living with the Parks.

RE: Benjamin Lyon
Yes you can use my photo however you want for personal use; I would prefer that you not give me any credit. That is not necessary and clutters up the info.

Someone explained it to me, and here is how to visit my tree. It won't show anything about living people. On the home page, mouse over "Collaborate" and choose Member Directory. In the search bar, Find a Specific Member, type BillCapper. One word, no space. Then climb the Capper tree to the top. : )

I don't know how to have someone see my Ancestry tree. I can send an invitation if I know their email address. There must be some way for I have seen other trees, but it only worked for one visit. Anyway, I quit looking. I always found egregious errors. My tree is probably less than a third finished, at 1500, but the early Fawcetts are on the chart. I have been adding early Cappers lately, the ones who remained in Virginia. They are still there. I visit the one who is 96 several times a year.

RE: Alice Fawcett
Yes, I know who Alice's father was, he was Joseph Fawcett. I have not been active here for some time but am now working at it again. I have a tree on, public, member name BillCapper (no space). I show there Alice's great grandparents. I have 1500 relatives so far on my tree, heading for over 4000, using my own research and not importing anything from other trees, so I can be confident of accuracy. I began researching in 1986 and have much to share. Let me know if you can not access the tree. I'm sorry to take so long to answer. I was avoiding Find A Grave because of the arguments over who had the right to post my family members. You are welcome to share anything you want from my Ancestry tree.

That was a VERY difficult time to be living in Missouri... there were a lot of disputes and killing between neighbors who were for or against seceding for the Civil War. For more info, check out "Bleeding Kansas" and also read about the Raiders.

Park in Missouri, not Kansas :-)
Okay, I went back and checked my records to make sure about when/where your Francis Marion had gone when he headed further west. I remembered at least one of his children had been born in Kansas or Missouri, and I remembered that your Francis Marion had headed west earlier than the family of Henry Thomas. It looks like F.M. headed over with the uncles to Missouri. His son, Daniel Turney Park, was born there in 1867. But then, F.M. went to Iowa rather than remaining in Missouri or moving up to Kansas with some of the other relatives.
