Bio and Links
Bio Photo Working on family histories for my wife and myself, and for an ol' friend. Genealogy has been an interest for 10+ years, and find-a-grave has helped me break through several brick walls. Interested in these surnames: Fischer, Kleman, Schnetzer, German, Beiser, Spoerri, McGeary, Jamison, Ritchey, Cochran, Leedom, McLeod, Cogan, Defibaugh, Marr, Hewitt, Finch. Presently researching in: New York City, northern NJ, southwestern PA, IL, IN, MN, & KS. I'm a former computer science guy, retired from Bell Labs, so I particularly enjoy the research in libraries and archives. Reside in Morris county, NJ.

Valentinus Klemann 46800662
Dave,

I'm going through the updates I have submitted and need to know whether you decline adding the Christening record to his bio which reflects an alternative spelling of his parents' first names and shows his baptism date. I don't delete my submissions until they are added or declined, so please let me know which one so I can clear it out of my Find A Grave update mailbox. Thanks! All the best, W

RE: Catharina Miller Klemann (1844 - 1873) -
Find A Grave Memorial

Hi Dave,

I just made memorials for everyone else on the SCHMUGG monument and JP Rayder added the photos he took. I noticed that there is an inscription for Catherine M. Klemann. It's difficult to read but there's enough that is legible that makes me think she is the same person as the Catharina Miller Klemann in the memorial you made. The location that you listed for her does not match up to where the SCHMUGG monument is located. I'm wondering if there was an error or if possibly her remains removed at some point to the SCHMUGG plot. The cemetery is close so I can't inquire today, so I thought I would ask you. Wendy

RE: Edits on Valentin Klemann
That's a great idea to include that information on his bio otherwise you might get edits in the future. Usually if there is a discrepancy like that there is a note on the memorial and many times when there isn't it's just a misreading of the headstone. At least with sending in an edit I find out which one it is! :) thanks and good luck with your move! W.

P.S. Valentin Klemann
I forgot to remind you to approve the Edit Panel for the updates I submitted to Valentin Klemann's page.

If you're not familiar with that feature, you go to your homepage on Find A Grave and click on Edits in the top panel to the right middle. You will have choices. Choose "Edits Sent to Me that I Need to Approve". You will see a list of submissions and click Approve or Accept on the ones related to Klemann. I can't remember which word it uses.

Thanks!

RE: Schnugg / Klemann monument
Hi Dave, thanks for your reply! Do you recall if there are inscriptions on the other two sides that are not visible? Any recollection of the name Valentine Schultz? Good luck with your move! Talk to you when things settle down for you. :-)

Schmugg / Klemann monument
This is a post note to my previous note below this one. Since I didn't hear back from you, I went ahead and created basic memorials for all the names that were on your photo that didn't have memorials (two of the four sides of the Schmugg monument). Hopefully someone will fulfill my photo request for Valentine Schultz and I will find out if his name is on one of the two other sides of this monument not shown.

Since it appears you are related to some of these names on this monument, I would be happy to transfer them to you to update. I only created basic ones so someone could add photos to their pages since they will be going to this monument anyway to look for Valentine Schultz.

Another P.S.
Regarding this memorial for Anna Maria Schnugg Klemann 46809490

I noticed she is the only Schnugg that has a memorial on Find A Grave, but it appears John Schnugg (the owner of the plot) and others are inscribed on the monument side that is difficult to read. I just wanted to point that out in case you would like to make memorials for them.

Also, noticed that two Klemann names that are at the top of the headstone do not have memorials either. Carolina Klemann and Franz Joseph Klemann. If you do, you should make a photo request for the Schnugg side of monument as well as the other sides that are not viewable from the monument photo if you don't have close ups for all sides already (not posted). I am hoping Valentine Schultz is inscribed on that monument. I will make a request for a photo for his memorial unless you have one.

Sure glad the maiden name was on Anna Maria's memorial or I would have never solved this little mystery. :-)

Have a good night!
