| Bio and Links | | My obsession now is the Confederate Soldiers of Randolph County, Georgia, USA. Some are marked with a government marker, those you know were in the war, then there are those that have a family marker, these you don't know unless found in the MSR. (military service records) There are some buried here that have no marker. These I'm working on to get marked. I've lived here all 72 years & I'm having a great time. If you have a veteran, any war, buried here, I need their names, what war, where buried. I'm Flo Merritt Young of Shellman, Ga., Randolph County. | |

 | RE: Martin's I have never had anyone ask me- and it does not bother me one bit-but that's the rules here, so I try to comply. But do you know where Thomas Young Martin 1842-Spartenburg SC-1892 Dawson, Terrell, Ga son of Wm, Robert,Th Saml, Jesse Maude,George Bertram,Clem Hayes-is buried- that was my other question. I gave you the cemetery on the others-on note. Can't remember now. Thanks. (Thomas Grave picture-that I mentioned only has a smeared area for name-and does not look like the others-great pictures- is why I had ask if it was yours, and you knew.) Thanks again. (It is Thomas Young Martin I need to find) | | | Gerry Hill
 | Martin's For, I note you posted a lot of the Randolph Martin's. Are they by any chance kin? I am working on them today. In particular the faily of Thomas Young Martin who married Johanna Aycock (Georgianna?) and someone posted his grave picture, but I can not find him. (They may actually have had an original! The same guy used yours on George Bertran Martin- and does not say he ask permission. I want to ask permission to use that one-and others I find on this family. Thanks, Gerry | | | John Mallory Land
 | ANTHONY transfers and photos Wow! You are quick! I just sent the photo requests and transfer requests for the ANTHONY memorials at Eastview Cemetery, and you've already done them! You must live close by! I sure appreciate your help with these folks! If you ever need any look-ups in Columbus (GA), I volunteer in the Genealogy Department of the public library here and would be glad to help! Thanks! | | | Ruth Culton Taylor

 | Re IV Duke Greenwood Cemetery, Culbert, Randolph County, GA.
According to the typed information on the 1936 Headstone application to the War Department; I V Duke is Isaac Virgil Duke born 23 Mar 1849 and died 30 Sep 1900. Someone crossed out the name and wrote I.V. and the 30th was crossed out and 29 was written.
The application was signed by a Louella D Burton and above is written Mrs C J Burton.
I have a copy of this. Do not know if Mrs Burton is kin or not to IV Duke but there are several Luella's (of various spellings)in the Duke line.

 | Done He now has two parents! Flo, I am on findagrave on facebook, and you would be suprised at what they are "kicking off" folks who contribute for now. (Not following rules I did not even know esisted-guess I don't get on the rules part often enough.) So I try very hard to stick to them. I found one the other day that had been on even longer than me- it just said "suspended". | | | Gerry Hill
 | RE: Done If you will send me a note from the grave with her number I will be glad to. Much easier like that. I did not look her up, just wondered. | | | | [View all messages...] |
