"When God sends forth a special living soul to learn the ways of the earth, an earthly mother's love is waiting; we call this wonder birth. When God calls home a loving earthly soul and stills a fleeting breath, a Heavenly Father's love is waiting; this too is birth, not death."

I am willing to transfer any memorials which are not my ancestors or relatives and will try to help anyone with information or research. I think it is important to identify persons, when possible, so we can know who they are and who their families are, for historical and personal reasons.
2016 Update:
Sixty seven years ago I started looking for lost graves as Grandma sent me, at age 8, to find "the indention by the pine tree, near great great grandpa's headstone" so she could place flowers where a baby was buried in 1869 with no "marker". From her, I learned to look for that tiny "frosted" spot when the night before had been chilly (the ground is still warmer at a burial site which has no vault, even after 100's of years!)
I first knew grief when Grandma died, 60 years ago. To honor her, I began genealogy research from her precious family records. Fifty five years ago the death of my young first husband, at the hands of robbers, nearly caused the loss of my first unborn child. Years later, a miscarriage took another son and now, for the past 31 years, we have also grieved for our youngest son, lost to a freak accident. Brad
Writing personal histories has been a passion for over 40 years, since I found my relationship to Mormon Battalion soldiers and an early U.S. President.
Being an unpaid cemetery sexton for the past 25 years has required mapping and recording (handwritten) of over 3,000 birth & death locations and overseeing burials and settings of gravestones for some 950 persons. During this time, the birth and death records from 1854 at one cemetery and from 1869 to date, at another, were located and recorded; exact grave locations had never been written down for 155 years! I'm still hand drawing family lot maps for the latter cemetery for all owners.
For over 30 years, I have composed poetry and short stories about loved ones' passing, both for my own and others.
So, am I a "graver" ?, a "griever", a "genealogist", a "historian", a "sexton", a "poet" or just kind of "nutty"?? (We ALL could have, instead of this, been lounging on "sum beach sum where", ya know!)
Anyway, I feel sad when an unkind remark is posted, or it is stated that Find a Grave was designed for one purpose and that "newcomers", who want to use it for genealogy, or some other reason than it was originally intended, should go elsewhere. I hope it is intended to help us all find burial locations, which should include photos, dates, and family links, if possible for proper identification.
Short bios also help identify specific individuals and search data sources can help us verify the positive location. That is why I believe that a gravestone, with poor or misinterpreted information, should be supplemented with the best historical facts available, if possible. After all, it is Find a Grave, not "Find a Stone". Sometimes, nothing else is available, but that is a sad case; unknown, with unknown dates does not tell us much, especially when there is no stone or it is illegible.
I hope to help & will gladly transfer, edit, delete or correct anything I contribute; I'm slow, but I'm OLD, please have patience!

Sorry, I have to laugh.... recently seen on a gravestone, (wife's, Jo Ann's stone) "DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND CRY, I AM NOT HERE, I DID NOT DIE" ...alongside on the husband's stone, "JO ANN - IF WE DID NOT DIE, WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?".... [ I SAID I'm sorry! ]

RE: General Washington Arnhart
HI Shirleen, you are welcome and glad to help in anyway. Did you know that the city website has his name as George? Just curious how it fell in or maybe it was a mistake.

Do you have obituaries for them both?

I don't know about the death record, but she was in the cemetery list. Of course most of those are compilations of readings of the cemetery, cemetery records, and sometimes a few local obituaries and family records. But I did link her to her second husband and you can send the link to her first husband if you want. And if she does have a marker there someone will add it to Find A Grave eventually, so why not you now? And then you can add the note that she is most likely buried with her second husband.

Reading in my Stuhr Family history I find the following.

Richard's first marriage Deloris Fuller (1946)
three children all boys.

Second marriage Florence Smith (1953) three children, one girl, two boys.

Third marriage Irene Hulme,Jones 1991, no children.

Richard's mother was a Schlechte.

If you agree I will edit accordingly.

Thanks for the input.

>thank you for the edits & data

You're welcome.

>I also sent an edit to the owner of Henry Foster >Beer's memorial, to add Geo. W. as his father.

Great, thank you.

>I do not know where Alice L. is, so am not able to >send an edit to link her to the parents.

I just found out that Alice L. is the same person as Lola H.F. Beer that married James Jackson Hunter.

Thank you for your assistance with this.

RE: Go girl....
Don't you dare make me stay home.
It is Beautiful Up there. The temp is comfortable and that is a plus when I have to dig them out, or hike from place to place.
My GOAL is to Whittle the Request page down and with my T1 Pauper I will have SO MUCH Research, it will occupy my for the winter.
'
I learned my lesson. I do not search in the Heat unless it is Run up there Grab a location and return to fans.
I LOVE to search in the snow but wet stones take pour pics but I get information and Dates and waiting for them to dry is going back and forth not a lot of fun.
I was in Odgen a couple weeks ago, with one of my claimed kids. DOWNPOUR. SERIOUS DOWNPOUR. The sky is literally falling DOWNPOUR.
Ogden is a LooooNG way to go and be rainout.
Myself and her husband were silently praying for a Break.
Absolutely STUNNING.in Only a Minute.
We took her kids to see her Grandpa, who was a DEAR friend of mine, buried with His Mom.

Her 3 year old and I wandered looking for my searches. I had 6. STRUCK OUT but we had a blast and I have 3 more now anyway, just with what I did find.
She learned it rains from trees awhile after the downpour and when her mom, caught up to us, {They were driving around with the baby and keeping an eye on us, in case another downpour} Her mom was helping us search when she looks up and said, "Oh no. It's raining again.'
Kaylee says "It the trees Mommy. They rainin"

Nobody said anything about the DOWNPOUR Until we were back in the van. "I asked' I prayed'. It happened that's so cool. We were not surprised, she was amazed. She thought we magic.
That works for me a lot. Please Just give me time to get these. It will clear up. I meet my goal and start downpour as just as I leave. I LOVE It.

It is this computer thing, I would rather do without. I got a lot done this morning but as far as labeling and posting ugggggggg. back to it.
I WANT TO get that done so I can go up again hopefully by 2.
I have yesterday's 'not get to' and 2 other sections, should not take long, I kind of know exactly where to go. Then I have E {29}. and D {17}. dntdntdaaa.
E I KNOW will be an all Day. I AVOID E. E Scares me. It has it's OWN ECO SYSYEM. Fun to wander but finding a foot of space, that LIKELY will not be marked, or have to dig out if it is, on a hill, or a valley...and if it is marked, I am likely there when the sun is casting shadows or glare.
BUT IF I get there, the stories I always have.

Pour woooooeest me. Don't you Dare make me stay home.
back to work shhhhh.

LOVE YA LOTS
THANK YOU
HAVE FUN

RE: Go girl....
I do. I could not even create my own Mum. I was scared I would goof everything up.
I actually did an entire section for my New Years gift. I had been there SO MANY Times, I finally started at the NW Corner and space by space.
I Had YOU In mind through out. 550 mostly babies. I had to lock myself OUT OF THE Cemetery until Snow cleared for pics. Which I finished Memorial day AND posting 2 days later.
That Worked well so I did T-1 which is a Pauper Plot. About 1200 names and 25 stones. They have Memorials and pics of location, most have a Burial Record or Death Certificate. Obviously there is A LOT more Research BUT I have virtual Cemeteries on Cause of Death.
I could not really PROVE what I was trying to Prove.
I think YOU probably heard my scream of excitement when I was Each.
I have been ATTACKING the VP page this week. My GOAL is 100 searches THIS Week.
39 are DONE and Over. Except the Surrounding family plots.
I Did 38 TODAY. Just Sorted 148 pics. NOW I NEED to Label and POST. I LOVE the Hunt.
The Sorting and the Labeling UGGGGG.
BUT Yesterday I used One of YOUR Squires to PIN POINT where I needed to go. I went Right to it.
IF I could Remember the Locations Of my Previous Searches.
One of my searches today I have USED to pin point So Many Other searches. Today Boom Right there.
Then I had to dig out my last 3 stones and I left hungry and Exhausted leaving 6 Short of my goal.

I BET your place looks sharp.
We do all of those things ourselves to.
I HOPE things are..if Not Calm, Manageable for you. Do Everything you need to do, for everyone else, but keep that pinky open.
I LOVE YOU LOTS Shirleen.
I think of you daily.

I have to start labeling and posting YEA...

LOVE YA LOTS.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
HAVE FUN
Me

Oh you are welcome. I still don't know how I did that. I was so mad I probably just went back to the memorial and not my email. This one person continues to give me grief all the time. They even said that I had no business entering memorials if they were not going to be complete with birth date, city, state, etc., death date, city, state, etc., and links to parents!! I know I am not perfect by any means but lately a lot of corrections coming in are from others sending me links to connect spouses and parents and they end up being wrong. I can't check each one out individually and really, who am I to say if they are the right people being connected? Sorry to hear you have the same kind of problems. It's just today's society. Can't please them all! Have a great evening and send me your links. I will know the ones with your name I can actually connect!
