For over 45 years I have worked on my family histories. Sometimes, as a "get-away" from my own research and frustrations I walk through a cemetery and record my own census of readable tombstones. I record the dates and inscriptions just as they are engraved on the memorial.
So, what I have recorded is usually my own work efforts and research.

Memorials are created with respect and honor and are not intended to offend.

Should you have additions/corrections to my entries or if you would like your family member or friend transferred to your care, please let me know--
If the memorial is not my own relative or close friend, I consider ALL requests for memorial transfers. I'm not going to quibble over the ancestry and how many times removed you are from the person in the memorial. I'm happy to transfer memorials. Likewise, I appreciate similar considerations.

(And - I'm not in a numbers race to see how fast I can post obituaries or how many memorials I can post)
Seems some entries are made before the family has an opportunity to return from the cemetery !

I wish you success as you look for those who have gone before.

BY THE WAY -- when I find my personal pictures- many I personally took -- lifted and re-posted on other sights -- It angers me that there isn't acknowledgment of the source.
After all, I am very proud of my ancestors.

I don't care if you use my personal pictures in your online family trees but at least have the courtesy of making a connective link to the original on FindAGrave, and/or including credit to FindAGrave member SM #46597451.

Of course, I would cannot imagine anyone would use my personal pictures for personal financial gain.

Jacob Smith
Hello. I am wondering about an ancestor of mine, Jacob Smith buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in South Bend Indiana. The memorial, 15941236, says his mother is Rachel Smith. How can Rachel be his mother if she died a year before he was born? Could Rachel and Michael Smith possibly be the grandparents to Jacob Smith and Mary Ann Tuttle Smith? Please let me know if you know anything about the family.

Joseph D. Mellow
Hi,
Thank you so much for transferring Mr. Mellow to me! I have added his obituary and also added his wife, with her obituary, to Find a Grave. As you can read in his obit, Mr. Mellow was prominent in South Bend and I am pleased to have saved his obituary so it can be published on Find a Grave.

RE: Seybold
No need to transfer. I was just glad that we were including both biologic and adoptive aunt and uncle on his memorial.
