Parents: Samuel Sherard (born abt 1756 in New Jersey died 6 May 1833 in Butler County, Ohio)and Elizabeth Holley Sherard (born abt 1767 died bef 1833 Butler County, Ohio). Samuel Sherard was a Revolutionary War soldier as proven by Rodney Merle Sherard member of the "Sons of the American Revolution", National Number 185162. Samuel first served as a Private in the Second Regiment, Sussex County, Militia as a soldier in Captain John Seward's Company for a period of six months and two weeks. Later he served in Spencer's Regiment, Continental Army. James Sherard served during the War of 1812 from 27 Mar to 26 Sep 1813 in Captain Daniel Heaton's Company as a Lieutant.

Thank you so much for getting that one straightened out! It sure didn't sound right to me, but figured I'd put in the note to see if there was somebody who could help! I looked for William Edwards also, so far no luck. There are quite a few Edwards, so hard to trace. I'll keep looking.
