My mom is having some major health issues right now. I'm still working on my memorials & any edits you send. It may just take me a few days longer here & there to get to them. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
==============================
I want to thank everyone who sends edits. I appreciate them. I think its important that information is added & it often takes more than one person to do that.

Unfortunately the next part needs to be said as well.
============================
There's nothing more uplifting (said sarcastically with an eye roll) than sending an edit for a military memorial, apparently not in the "correct way" & being told to "get a life." I expect this from people from time to time but would think a military veteran would have some tact. People wonder why some don't receive messages. It's because of rude "humans" such as these. You can decline an edit without being a jerk.

1. If you don't want the obituaries I send or the edits I make then don't add them. Denying the edit & then feeling like you need to send a rude message, however, is a waste of time. If you feel the need to act holier-than-thou, please act it elsewhere.

2. If you are military & therefore know more about military memorial pages & someone who doesn't know about them sends you an edit that is incorrect, please let them know what they did "wrong" & explain to them what the correct way is & do it nicely instead of treating them like they are beneath you.

3. Bios are for telling information ABOUT the people, whether it be a full obituary, just the names of the parents and/or spouses, the names of the children they had, what they died from, etc. it still goes in the bio section BECAUSE IT IS PART OF WHO THEY WERE. Refusing to add any information unless it's a full biography doesn't make sense since some of these people have been gone for years & there may be not a single soul left to send you a story. That is not what FG is about. It's about sharing information, so others know at least some about who these people once were. Unless the person is famous, most people aren't going to send you a biography. If you only accept those, then please look up information & do it yourself. Let people know NOT to send you any edits because you won't be accepting them & not to waste their time or yours.

4. Inscriptions on the tombstone mean the words ON THE TOMBSTONE EXACTLY AS THEY ARE (such as capitalized, abbreviated). It means ages if they are listed, quotes/poems at the bottom. If they are hard to read, write what you can see of them. Others may be able to fill the rest in. Write the words in lines as they are:
_______
_______
_______
Not __________________________________
(Sorry I didn't know how else to explain it).

5. If you are offended by how news articles were once written in newspapers & feel that others would be as well, you most likely are wrong. These are those "stories" that those mentioned in #3 want. Those ARE stories. Though maybe they only want rainbows & unicorns. Who knows at this point.

These, of course, are only my suggestions & opinions. A lot of people seem to like being rude, argumentative, condescending, holier-than-thou & just plain mean to each other these days. There are plenty of sites out there that will let you be all of those things & probably more, I don't feel that THIS site is for those kinds of people. If you ARE one of those people, please try to act civilized here.

I'm usually a nice, funny, cool kind of person, but some of you have forced me to be not so pleasant. Being nice goes a long way & to those of you who have been nice, awesome, helpful, friendly, etc. I very much appreciate that & thank you. :) I will treat you the way you treat me.

"May we all find what we're looking for."

"Yesterday now is a part of forever,
Bound up in a sheaf, which God holds tight,
With glad days, and sad days, and bad days, which never
Shall visit us more with their bloom and their blight,
Their fulness of sunshine or sorrowful night.

Let them go, since we cannot re-live them,
Cannot undo and cannot atone;
God in his mercy receive, forgive them!
Only the new days are our own;
To-day is ours, and to-day alone."
