Westlawn-Hillcrest Vets
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

Helen Cokeley
your note

I just took a photo of Helen's grave marker in the Tyndall Cemetery, not St
Leo's Cemetery. I didn't know her, but was going to add the photo to Find A Grave, and
found her in the other cemetery. Very confusing. Are you sure she is buried in
St Leo's? All the photos I took were in the Tyndall Cemetery, so I know her
grave marker is there.

Thanks,

Hello,
No I have not been there and I have made the mistake if you found her in the Tyndall Cemetery. Someone took them for me awhile back. I have moved her and her husband over to the right cemetery. They are family. Thanks so much for getting me back on track.

RE: Collins--Hillabold--Prettyman
My mother's maiden name was Hillabold. Her great-grandfather, Martin, was Christopher Hillabold's brother. If your husband is a Hillabold descendent then we are cousins!

RE: Celia McAninch
I only found Henry Telljohann married to Barbara. In 1900 census it lists them as married in 1878, having 7 children, with 4 living. He died May 31, 1912 and she was listed in the Cincinnati directory as widowed in 1913. She was in the 1920 census living with daughter, Celia McAninch, and in 1930 census living with granddaughter, Gertrude Mudersbach. I found daughter, Rosa, age 3 mos in 1880 census, but not in later census records. 1900 lists children living as William, Edward, Harry & Celia. I looked for the marriage record of Henry & Barbara but they apparently never filed for a restored marriage license after the courthouse fire.

Argabright Headstone
You are so very welcome. His headstone was actually one of the nice ones. The cemetery is in sad shape. I think a lot more would be visible if someone would go in and rake the mown grass clippings off the headstones. We were out walking around out there yesterday, and I took as many pictures as I could and posted the ones listed on the site last night, and I have about 20 more to add. There are some that are no longer legible, but if someone would take the time, there are more that could be visible again. We don't live here; we were just passing through. Otherwise, we would go back and do it ourselves. Glad I could fulfill your request.

RE: McAninch
I am not for sure if this is the Martha that is George's spouse, I did see the date is off from the stone and memorial page in Find a Grave, if this is her, there is a mistake from either one, I can talk to the Sexton and see if I can find out for you if you'd like.

RE: Kurtz
Well, if you are related to these Kurtzes, then we must be cousins. How are you related to Henry Kurtz? He is the only one that I am related to directly, but it is further out than g-grandparents. I thought I told you how I was related in my last message. Please email me directly at justkima@yahoo.com. I would love to continue the conversation about how we are related without clogging up my message board.

What about the Vesper's that I asked you about? Would you be able to transfer those?

Thank you so much!

Henry Kurtz
Hello! I am descended through a son, George, who is not buried at Zion, but moved to North Dakota. Yes, Carl/Karl is Henry's son and so is Jacob (the older one). I would love to maintain all the Kurtz memorials that you have. Would it be possible to transfer to me?

I am also descended from Carl Christian Vesper and his wife Caroline and would great welcome the Vesper memorials that you currently have as well. I am a long time genealogist and have much documentation on my family.

Thank you so much!
