|I am the Assistant City Historian for the City of Sheboygan and also chairman of the City of Sheboygan Historic Preservation Committee.|
I have also written two local history books on Sheboygan including one on Mayors of Sheboygan which includes gravestones of some mayors.
I am currently working on a book on the 1950s singing group, The Chordettes (Mr. Sandman, Lollipop). The orginal members of the Chordettes were all from Sheboygan.
In Sheboygan County, I have copied all the names and dates on gravestones in the following cemeteries:
Cedar Grove First Reformed Church Cemetery
Cedar Grove Presbyterian Cemery
Cedar Grove Walvoord Cemetery
Town of Holland Union Cemetery
Hartmann Cemetery (Oostburg)
A few years ago, I was able to get a Veteran gravestone for Col. Charles Born, who is buried in Sheboygan's Wildwood Cemetery. He served in the Spanish American War and was also a four term mayor of Sheboygan.
From my apartment windows, I can see the gravestones on the north end of Wildwood Cemetery.

Very nice you are working on a book of the Chordettes... I'm very interested. I saw the Chordettes for the first time in 1958, when they performed on the worldfair in Brussels, together with Andy Williams and The Everly Brothers. From that time on The Chordettes was "my"group. Specially Janet was my idol. Her radiation , her long beautiful hair , had an enormous impact on me,though I was only 14 years old.... Many times I watch the dvd where they perform all together in front of the Swedish TV cameras in February 1959 in The Archie Bleyer Show. When the book about this famous group is ready, i want to ask you to give me a sign. Success with your work! Regards, Robert IJsseldijk , Holland .

I hope you will publish a book of all of your research. I think it would be an asset for all.
