My husband and I enjoy finding monuments for other people and am extremely grateful to the volunteers who have found my own people for me. We've been working on finding the little pioneer cemeteries in the area and putting their inhabitants online. Four of our memorial pages even helped to catch a gravestone thief. Cemeteries are extremely vulnerable to vandalism, theft, and the damage of time and weather. We appreciate all of the volunteers out there who are working so hard to document them before they are lost to history. |

I'm not a numbers addict or collector, but I adhere to Findagrave policy:
◊Find A Grave's primary purpose is a graves registration website.
◊Find A Grave's secondary purpose is a memorialization/remembrance site.
◊Find A Grave's tertiary purpose is a genealogical resource.
Transfers are only made within the guidelines set up by Find A Grave. These guidelines are in place for a reason - whether one cares to accept them or not. I am not going to debate what the owner has deemed acceptable for his site with members who choose not to agree with the guidelines. "The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it." I am willing to consider transferring ownership to you if you have a close family member among my records. I rarely transfer relationships more distant than first cousin... just having someone "in my family tree" or "a relative" will not elicit a transfer.
If you want information added to a memorial, go to the memorial and use the "Edit" tab to send me the information-- including family links. I will add information to the memorial, I do not transfer just because someone wants to add links or other information. Bottom line: what are you planning on doing with the entry that I haven't already done or am unable to do?
On the other hand, if you upload family photos or in some other way add value to the memorial, I am much more willing to transfer. I will always transfer a memorial if you sponsor it.
I welcome all corrections to my own work. Some records were imported using OCR so have inevitable errors, both from the original records and from machine interpretation. I am only human and make mistakes, too, but will always make it priority to correct them.

I saw on find a grave that you have the info for Bettie Kichline Graeff Filetti's obituary. In it it says she is survived by a son, a grandson and 5 great grandchildren. I would guess the son was Russ who just passed away. It doesn't seem any of the other people are listed in his obituary, only his 'wife's' family. Just curious. My husband's mother was his 'wife'. No chance getting an accurate story from her.

Thank you SO MUCH for the work you have done creating my great grandparents pages!!! I was so happy to find them on here. A lot of the info you had was more than I've ever heard & my mom was excited to see them. It got her talking about old family stories from when she was a kid. Mom came to Mi when she was young & raised her family here so I'm not nearly as connected to my family out west as I'd like to be. Thank you again for helping this stranger fill in some of her missing family history...it means alot to me! :)

First, let me thank you for all your hard work and efforts on behalf of Find A Grave. This REALLY means a lot to me. I started working on my genealogy in the 1980's, At that time I visited cemeteries within my driving ability. Now I no longer have that option. I am unable to because of age and health. I am still trying to get as much of my family genealogy as possible on Ancestry and Family Tree Maker so that my extended family will have access to their heritage. I hope you won't mind my using copies of your grave markers for my family files. My one ambition before the Lord calls me home is to have as much of my extended family there for all of my family to know. Thank you again for your adding to my efforts. I appreciate you so much.

ps. My Jones family originated in NC but scattered many places.
