People that think I should read the FAG guidelines, might want to try it themselves.

How do I enter all married names for a woman's memorial when she was married more than once?

The 'last name' is the name that is on the headstone. INCLUDE OTHER MARRIED NAMES AS PART OF THE BIOGRAPHY SECTION. The 'maiden name' is only for her maiden name.
----------------------------
I'd like to suggest that if you're doing a photo request, and there is no stone for that person, then take a photo of where it should be. I do that because I feel that way they can see there is no marker and maybe have a better feeling having a photo of the location, with other markers on each side for location.

Also if I find a woman that was buried as Mrs.____ don't hassle me over that. It's bad enough that they didn't even use her first name, now some people want to do the same thing with her memorial. If you know her first name, tell me, don't just think I should list her the same as her husband.

When I first found Find A Grave, I was excited and happy to be able to add to it. But sadly it's not that way anymore. I can fully understand the feelings off some of the contributors that have become unactive. When I added memorials, I fully thought family would turn up, want them and fix anything they considered an error. But that's not so either. With the automatic edits, in 21 days, they apparently are made whether you ignored or declined them. There doesn't seem to be much control over your memorials anymore. Just because someone disagrees with the way I've added them, not even family, they can be changed. We are all different individuals, so I can't see why other people, if they're NOT family, should be allowed to change yours. I thought difference of opinion was a way of life, not your right, so I'm wrong. Memorials shouldn't be changed just because someone else thinks they should. I thought the important thing was they were on there for family to find.

Also, I'm tired of people whining because someone might not transfer a memorial. "It's all about the numbers." I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about. The number I added doesn't change, just the number I manage. So if I was in it for the numbers, I'd still be okay. Quit whining.

As far as transfers, I don't necessarily stick to the FAG guidelines as far as relation. If you're a relative, I don't mind transferring (that's why they're on there) BUT it does depend on how you ask/tell me!

Forgive me for not responding with a thank you in acknowledgement to your request. Mea culpa on my lack of etiquette. You raise some interesting points in your retort. My math professor instilled wisdom along with his lecture. "there is a rule for every exception and an exception for every rule." The rules for Find A Grave appear to be in a constant state of flux. In the early days of computers, a message was sent to Russia in English. The message, "The spirit is strong, but the flesh is weak" was translated into Russian as; "the vodka is good, but the meat is rotten. So it goes. I learn slow and forget fast. I would settle for half fast. Thank you again for all that you do and remember, keep swimming against the tide. It makes you stronger.

It is with my sincere thanks for photographing my 1st Cousin and his wife’s headstone. I appreciate your help very much and perhaps someday I'll be able to repay your kindness.

You are welcome. I will add photo to Ruth in the next day or so. I just got back home to NC after visiting my sister in Newton Falls. Took your photos while doing some research of my own and also paying respect to my father and step-mother's grave site.

Hi. I believe that the info you and I have compiled is accurate. I have attached death certificates, when able, to match up dates and parents names. Mary Ann did marry an Acocks and is buried in Riverside. I agree with your assessment that the marker with all the childrens names was erected at the time their parents marker was made. Where they ended up was their doing. If this other person has some sort of info that refutes what we have put together. We can review it and decide. I really appreciate all that you do and enjoy working with you. Please feel free to contact me for any reason. I will not be offended if it is a correction or suggestion. My intent is to make my memorials as accurate as possible. I can't always do it alone and I do appreciate input. If you ever want to work a cemetery together, let me know.

Remember, "thank you" is old school and was taught by parents who wanted their children to have manners!

Thank you so much for you time and patience in securing a photo of the marker for Clair and Kathleen Witter. Words cannot express the gratitude toward what you do. I list you among my friends at Find A Grave!

Sharon Underwood & George Grasser
Hi, Did you know Geoge Grasser? I just added Sharon Grasser Underwood, Find A Grave Memorial# 143230781, and her obit says George is her brother, but in reading it, they both have different parents. So apparently one of the obits is wrong, but I don't know which one. thanks.........
Reply:
.George Grasser was my stepfather,
and Sharon Grasser Underwood was his sister. I double checked with family, and the obit. for George is correct. They both had the same father,
whose name was George Nicholas Grasser, but was
always called Nick or Nicholas. I believe that maybe whoever provided the info for Sharon, did not realize that her father's FIRST name was George. Memorial # 143230781 - Sharon Underwood
Memorial # 55647748 - George Henry Grasser
