|Judy Pettit||Memorial 46986335 in North Shelby|
I noticed you didn't have a last name for this individual, but when I was looking at the headstone as we were taking photos in the cemetery the other day, it says children of something and Catherine Vedder. So I went to the rootsweb website and this is what I found:
VEDDER, F. ALLIE APR 30, 1849 JAN 7, 1857 DAU OF ALEXANDER VEDDER & CATHERINE
VEDDER, OSCAR A. 1847 JAN 3, 1858 SON OF ALEXANDER VEDDER & CATHERINE
My understanding is these were documented from the records in the town clerks office as well as taken from the headstones.
I figured you might want to know.

Thank you for putting the inscription on the memorial. That is very helpful to those of us who are searching.

I am happy to see that you photographed the gravestone of Lineaus T. Alford in Boxwood Cemetery (Memorial# 80240969).
I would like to add this gravestone photo to the non-profit Alford American Family Association's collection of New York Obituaries, where his obituary will be included. You can see the current collection at http://www.alfordassociation.org/OBITS/NYOBIT.htm.
May I have your permission to include your gravestone photos? If so, the photo caption will say:
Photo from [cemetery name, city, county, state]—www.findagrave.com
Permission granted by the photographer, Connie [or your full name if you prefer]
And thanks so much for your gravestone photo work!

Thanks so much for the photograph of Eli's headstone! This helps so much in my family history! But I can't read the inscription - can you by any chance? Thanks again, Barb

Thanks you so much for your quick response. Ezra was born in 1770 and married Abigail in 1792.
On your points, Ezra and Abigail had 4 sons, Ezra, Jr (1798); Isaac (1799); Abner (1806); and Franklin (1812). So, a date of 1873 and 12 years old probably doesn't fit any of them or even any of their descendants, unless Ezra, Jr. had kids very late in his life; he had no sons. Abner did have a Ezra the 2nd, but the dates would still be too early unless he, too, had a son Ezra, that could be close, but I don't have complete records on those lines. What a puzzle!
My wife and I plan a trip "north" this summer to take in many of the family plots across PA and NY. We will try to visit these cemeteries.
Thanks again for being a great Find-A-Grave resource.

Hi Connie, could you please put the photo of #66284467 on Elsie memorial #66284468, her name is on the stone. Thank You
|Karen Hoyt||RE: Anny Hoyt|
thanks so much Connie....I'm truly thinking she is the one also known as Anna...her husband and a few of her kids are also buried here so it has to be...also I can read the name Jonah Hoyt, so I'm figuring it says Anny wife of Jonah Hoyt. I just can't read the rest of it.
I really appreciate your help.
You don't happen to do or know of someone in the area that can get genealogy records ...of course for a fee???
|Karen Hoyt||Anny Hoyt|
I believe this to be the wife of Jonah C Hoyt #41012810.
Her maiden name is Palmatier (many variations)and it is said she was from Dutchess County Poughkeepsie.
Is this grave illegible...it seems there is quite a bit of writing on stone. Does cemetery have any further record of her burial
Thanks so much...this is a mystery
|Boice||Salma White & ? mother "Polly"|
If Salma White, who died in 1881 at age 65, estimating a birth date of 1816, how then can "Polly" be the mother if she was born in 1812? Perhaps, the date should be 1802 for Polly?
Stafford Rural Cemetery, Stafford, Genesee New York for Phinehas White, wife Polly & Phebe. I tie in family with the 2nd wife. /s/gladysboice
